Position Description

SUMMARY:. Assist in the control and maintenance of Device Master Record (DMR) used in the manufacturing of Instrumentation. Review for manufacturability all instruments submitted through the product realization process for creation of bill of material (BOM) and routing. Assists quality engineering, accounting and planning to ensure all required manufacturing documents are in place prior to the release of a purchase order. Conduct change impact activities such as quarantine, rework or scrap of instruments, resulting from global, WIP or WIP-Rework ECO’s. Provide manufacturing engineering support for all design transfer activities. Continually seek improved skill sets to support growth within manufacturing engineering team through establishment of  approved goals.

Position Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

Communicate with product development group and operations team on development activities related to Metal Injection Molding (MIM) processes and new product launches.

Assist in the control and maintenance of documents relating to validation and DMR through the routing of manufacturing ECO’s within the MSBI facility to ensure all manufacturing documents are in place before an item goes to production utilizing MIM technologies.

Initiate rework or scrap activities for MIM products.

Provide technical support to purchasing personnel and suppliers by interpreting production drawings, initiate design drawing changes through electronic change control system to improve manufacturability and reduce costs.

Work with Quality Engineering on development of inspection, process control, and validation activities related to the MIM technology.

Assist Quality Engineering in the design, fabrication and layout of inspection methods for MIM products.

Support Manufacturing Engineering team in the completion of established goals with respect to MIM activities.

Perform other duties as needed such as cad design, eco submission, etc.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and/or Manufacturing with 0-1 year experience in manufacturing environment.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Good oral and written communication skills.

Works well under pressure; must be organized and able to attain results on several projects simultaneously.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Basic Computer Skills.

Results-oriented and self-starter
