Associate Accountant - Accounts Payable Team Lead

As a lead member of the Accounts Payable Team, you will be responsible for acting as a subject matter expert on corporate policies, directing day to day work activities, and identifying system and process issues and improvements. You will act as a role model to team members by exhibiting strong customer service and leadership skills, providing fair and objective input, and demonstrating a strong work ethic.

A Day in the Life
Responds to team member inquiries in a prompt, accurate, and professional manner. Correctly answer team member questions regarding system issues, corporate policies, customer and vendor requirements, as well as tax and government guidelines
Responsible for directing day to day work activities that ensure accuracy and timeliness with one or more of the following: scanning, indexing, invoice processing, payment turnaround, as well as adequate phone coverage, or the testing of new/enhanced software
Conducts training on system software and approve policies and approve procedures/Work Instructions for team members and new employees as needed
Provides objective input on employee performance for 1:1s and annual reviews
Investigates/audits accounts payable documents and verify compliance with policies and procedures. Provides quality statistics on output of accounts payable staff. Provides additional training when unacceptable trends are identified. 
Identifies improvement opportunities and share best practices within department
Continually builds partnerships between Accounts Payable and the various functional areas and business units throughout the Company
Builds relationships with suppliers by proactively contacting them regarding open statements and partnering on process enhancements
Completes special projects and assignments within the department as they are identified
Performs back up functions for manager and accounting associates as directed
Responsible for meeting individual Key Performance Indicators for self and the departmental service level agreement standards.  Assist supervisor in measuring KPI’s/SLA’s and helping the team met theirs.

Bachelor's Degree
