Associate Chemist Job Description

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

 

Work primarily in a laboratory setting to conduct experiments and testing of manufacturing product, material analysis, and other research. Perform chemical analysis and tests and train and support subordinate junior on organization procedures and monitor all task in coordination with chemistry staff. Perform various experiments in coordination with senior chemist and participate in various planning session and administer all work requests from staff and ensure effective resolution.

Ensure compliance to all FDA guidelines and coordinate with various chemistry staff to monitor all programs and methods.

 

This position is full-time, and Assoc. Chemists work independently at sometimes and on teams at other times, so they should be able to excel independently as well as in a team environment. This position requires a detailed knowledge of safety procedures and cleanliness practices to ensure safety and that instrumentation and containers are uncontaminated.


A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Conducts exploratory research to produce new knowledge and potential products; conceives, organizes, promotes, and executes ideas and plans to increase chemistry's role in and contribution to the discovery and chemical approaches to meet exploratory objectives in product discovery.
  • Develops research proposals to provide a technically and economically sound basis for developing and evaluating new or improved products, synthetic methods, processes, and analytical and physical testing techniques.
  • Recommends utilization of the results or changes in the scope of work or termination of projects.

A bachelor's degree in chemistry and some prior experience in a laboratory environment are generally required for this position


Associate Chemist Tasks


• Perform and analyze chemical tests and procedure.

• Perform general lab maintenance and upkeep.

• Create data sheets and records.

• Follow, document, and replicate procedures.

• Take and prepare samples.
