Our Analytical Services Laboratory in Medtronic, plc, is a highly skilled, service-orientated GMP laboratory supporting multiple Medtronic businesses to being drug combination and medical device products from design concept to market release. Our Chemists are involved in the technical review of raw material, finished product testing, support and release.

• Perform technical data review of chromatographic and physical chemistry tests
• Support new and continuous improvement projects
• Write and participate in root cause investigations and assist in problem solving efforts for quality issues (OOS/OOT and manufacturing investigations)
• Provide support for audit preparation
• Liaise with other team members to ensure that team objectives are met
• Assist in test method troubleshooting and non-routine analysis
• Adhering to all Analytical Service Laboratory and relevant site wide procedures and practices for Safety and GMP
• Assist in the training and up-skilling of junior members of staff
• Conducts exploratory research to produce new knowledge and potential products; conceives, organizes, promotes, and executes ideas and plans to increase chemistry's role in and contribution to the discovery and chemical approaches to meet exploratory objectives in product discovery.
• Develops research proposals to provide a technically and economically sound basis for developing and evaluating new or improved products, synthetic methods, processes, and analytical and physical testing techniques.
• Recommends utilization of the results or changes in the scope of work or termination of projects.

• Degree level qualification in Analytical Chemistry or related discipline
• 5 years relevant experience is desirable
• Proficient knowledge of analytical separations techniques such as LC and GC is required.
• Dynamic team player and can work effectively and proactively on cross functional teams
• Experience in leading and writing root cause investigations, problem-solving is desirable
• Demonstrate self-motivation and proactively prioritizing your work schedule
• Good communicator and fluent in English, both in writing and speaking
