The candidate will contribute to Medtronic APAC growth and success by planning and executing the communications plan for key regional growth initiatives and employee engagement projects. This role will be part of the APAC communication team and will work closely with communication teams both in the regional office (Singapore) and across the main APAC markets (Japan, Korea, India, ANZ and SEA countries ). This role is an individual contributor and reporting to Director of Communications, APAC.


A Day in the Life


Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop and execute internal/ external communications plan for key regional growth project or initiatives, including but not limited to Project Mercury, Frontier Markets, APAC Growth Initiatives, Employer Branding and APAC Innovation Forum etc.
  • Liaison with Business on day to day basis to ensure that targeted initiatives are executed seamlessly. Write creative briefs for internal/ external audiences in coordination with the APAC Communications team and Project Leads.
  • Oversee the creative, content and development of materials, including the project overview deck, fact sheet, newsletters and other required documents.
  • Prepare monthly and weekly dashboards on various regional communications projects.
  • Identify, on-board and manage creative/ marketing/ PR agency relationships pertaining to the projects – Creation of the RFPs, Contract related activities, renewals, payments, monthly reviews of the agency, plan Vs achievement details.
  • Establish regular monitoring mechanisms for programs & campaigns.
  • Manage, evaluate, & ensure the integrity of communications between the company and its various stakeholders.
  • Help develop and implement events for the Internal & external communications programs related to the regional projects.


Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience


Additional Requirements

  • Graduation/ Post Graduation in Mass Communication or Marketing.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in public relations, media or communications
  • Candidates from PR Agencies covering healthcare practice OR PR professionals from the Hospitals/ Medical Devices/ Pharma Industry would also be preferred.
  • Good interpersonal skills, Project Management and English Language Skills
  • Good content development and presentation skills, strong interpersonal skills and able to work independently
  • Computer literacy including sound knowledge of the MS Office suite of software.
