The Corporate Communications Specialist will collaborate with team members across Medtronic Australia & New Zealand to manage internal communications channels and orchestrate events and various internal and external programs. The successful candidate will also play a key role in identifying and developing relationships with ANZ media to promote positive opportunities for Medtronic.

A Day in the Life

  • Partnering with Operating Unit leaders in the management of all aspects of Medtronic Australasia’s external image and communications – with the aim of protecting and enhancing the positive public image and reputation of the organisation.
  • Working proactively and directly with the Operating Unit leaders and Marketing personnel to ensure compliance with Medtronic brand and communications policies and procedures.
  • Managing internal communications channels and programs including digital signage and speaking programs and other Medtronic ANZ events
  • Preparing materials marketing the organisation to external stakeholders
  • Identifying media opportunities and developing relationships with ANZ media to promote positive opportunities, including patient and corporate branding stories
  • Developing and maintaining relevant contacts within the global Medtronic organisation in order to align strategy, ensure compliance with global brand standards, strategy and directives, and to leverage global programs
  • Coordinating activities related to Medtronic membership of industry/specialist groups and managing Patient Advocacy Group relationships


Must Have:

  • Proven experience in a Corporate Communications role; encompassing internal ‎and external ‎
  • Experience in the Healthcare sector would be advantageous. ‎
  • A demonstrated ability to create and implement strategic communications plans ‎and materials
  • Degree qualifications
  • Strong copy writing skills and events management expertise. ‎
  • General knowledge of the relevant legal and regulatory framework is desirable
  • A collaborative mindset and work style.‎
  • An excellent track-record of delivery; and the ability to project manage work ‎within a deadline-oriented, delivery-centered, fast-paced, matrixed team ‎environment where appropriate.‎
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Good verbal communicator ‎and presenter.‎
  • The ability to work autonomously but also effectively within a team
  • A self-motivated and positive attitude.‎
  • Strong time management skills: well organised, able to set and reset priorities.‎
