Help expand patient access to innovative, life-saving therapies. As a Simulation Specialist in our Structural Heart business, you will be responsible for partnering with product development engineers and health care practitioners to design and build benchtop anatomical models for device level testing and training of physicians for our high growth implantable heart valve platforms.   The ideal candidate will have a passion for the patients we serve and a desire to improve our business. The candidate will also be well versed in designing, building, and maintaining hydrodynamic electro-mechanical equipment, be motivated to learn, and must have strong interpersonal skills to work within a team.

A Day in the Life


Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned

  • As a Simulation Specialist, you will design, build, and maintain benchtop anatomical models supporting product development and physician training initiatives supporting our implantable heart valve therapies. In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with product design engineering and medical education teams to define benchtop simulation requirements and instructional objectives.

  • Prepare and maintain design drawings and schematics for tooling, system components, and build requirements.

  • Design, build, and maintain hydrodynamic and electro-mechanical simulation platforms supporting Structural Heart valve therapies.

  • Interface with internal and external customers to assess effectiveness and ease of use of simulation designs.

  • Evaluate external vendors and initiate contracts for outsourced machine components.

  • Demonstrate persistence, strong attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems;

  • Take responsibility to complete assigned tasks within prescribed schedule with limited oversight while adhering to project plans including timeline and budget.

  • Identify, communicate and implement continuous improvement ideas by identifying critical deficiencies and unmet needs.

  • Maintain technical knowledge current with advancing technology related to implantable heart valve products and associated accessories.

  • Complete required training and certifications to demonstrate compliance with applicable divisional and corporate policies in accordance with individual training matrix. 

  • Other tasks and duties as assigned.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience

  • CAD software experience: SolidWorks or Pro/E

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated success working in a collaborative team environment.

  • Extreme attention to detail and organization. 


Nice to Have

  • Vocational or technical education with advanced certification

  • Relevant experience within the medical device field.
