The Digital Marketing Specialist will collaborate with team members across Medtronic ANZ to develop compelling digital and social media campaigns to promote the organisation’s products and services through digital channels. There will also be an emphasis on key platforms and initiatives that promote Medtronic’s leadership positioning/reputation and therefore promote brand awareness, engagement, reputation, leads and positive customer behaviour.

A Day in the Life

  • Work with relevant stakeholders (particularly within the Corporate and Marketing organisation) to develop and implement social/digital channel plans including requirements, scope, deliverables, key milestones, timeline, resources and budget.
  • Ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, tone of voice, and optimised for search and user experience for all channels of content including online, social media, email, and mobile.
  • Develop and/or collaborate with partners for content creation, publication and deployment.
  • Provide internal stakeholders clear direction on objectives, audience, timing, budget, user journey, strategy and metrics desired and all content and deliverables required for execution.
  • Manage, report and optimise activity based on digital performance metrics.
  • Conduct ongoing tests and pilots to trial new and different ways to improve the user experience and to meet desired goals across the organisation’s social and digital channels.
  • Conduct periodic competitive audits and analysis.
  • Tap into the global Medtronic network to identify best practice campaigns and assess for local implementation.
  • Proactively share insights, opportunities, issues and updates to keep the team up-to-speed on current activity and to continue to fuel continuous improvement of the strategy, process and tools.
  • Develop and maintain an integrated content calendar to maximise the success of campaigns and consider the potential customer experience of exposure to multiple campaigns, including corporate ‘seeding’ campaigns.
  • Establish and maintain work flow for requesting, creating, editing, publishing, approving, and retiring digital content.

Must Have:
  • 6+ years or more of equivalent digital marketing and/or omni-channel experience.
  • Bachelors' Degree required, preferably in business, marketing or communications.
  • Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use both data and intuition to inform decisions.
  • Established success and experience executing digital marketing strategies.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills with the ability to follow through. Keen attention to detail.
  • Editorial mindset that seeks to understand what audiences consume and how to create it.
  • Ability to analyse data and metrics to optimise channels, tactics and approach.
  • Ability to lead and influence others.
  • Collaborative mindset and work style.
  • Track-record of delivery; and the ability to project manage work within a deadline-oriented, delivery-centered, fast-paced, matrixed team environment where appropriate.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Good verbal communicator and presenter.
  • Professional presentation and "Presence".
  • Can work autonomously but is also a team player.
  • Self-motivated and positive.
  • Outgoing and friendly: Enthusiastic, energetic.
  • “Can do” attitude.
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility with all levels of customer base.
  • Good time manager: Well organised, able to set and reset priorities.
