You will be a key member of Medtronic’s EHS team located in North Haven, CT. The Minimally Invasive Therapies Group (MITG) strives to enable earlier diagnosis, better treatment, faster complication-free recovery, and enhanced patient outcomes through less invasive surgical solutions. Surgical Innovations (SI) set the standard for Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) by creating innovative surgical products and services that focus on obesity and diseases and conditions of the gastrointestinal tract, lung, abdominal wall, pelvic region, and the head and neck.

A Day in the Life

We offer you a position where you will directly influence the Environment Health and Safety culture at Medtronic’s North Haven facility.  Support the Environment Health and Safety (EH&S) department by ensuring all regulatory and company training requirements are assigned and completed on-time by Medtronic personnel.  The training requirements include all levels of the organization both hourly and salary. 

Specific responsibilities include working with the EH&S department subject matter experts to determine which training requirements apply to each employee, ensuring those training requirements are driven / assigned to employees in Cornerstone (Medtronic’s Learning Management System), developing training curriculum and materials (both classroom training and computer based training), delivering classroom training including all health, safety and environmental topics, developing a means to evaluate the effectiveness of training delivered to employees, and periodically auditing Cornerstone EH&S training requirements to ensure employees are assigned the proper EH&S training.

In addition to the training related responsibilities, this employee will play a key role in ensuring all EH&S programs are implemented as specified in Medtronic’s EH&S Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).  The Training Coordinator will periodically audit North Haven’t EH&S programs to ensure compliance with the procedures.  This will be accomplished by auditing a sampling of the Medtronic population that is implementing each SOP.


Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience and may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience
Nice to Have

  • Knowledge in Environment, Health & Safety regulations
  • Experience delivering training and developing training materials
  • Detail oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Powerpoint
  • Degree in Environment, Health or Safety related field
  • Auditing experience
  • Developing computer based training
