Medtronic Tempe Campus, located in Tempe, Arizona, is looking for a first shift Technician III to support Wafer Operations and the Wafer Probe and Die Prep Areas as a Maintenance Technician.

A Day in the Life


In this position, you will provide hands-on, technical support including process equipment maintenance and calibration, root cause identification, debug, installation, modification, upgrades and qualification as well as maintenance and process improvements to understand and improve equipment performance and reliability. You will work with engineering staff to develop and execute procedures on a wide variety of medical electronics components and assemblies. You will respond in a positive manner to pressures caused by changing priorities. You will communicate effectively through written technical reports and verbal interactions. You will collaborate in a team environment with other technicians and engineers, lead problem solving activities, and implement DMAIC in problem solving.


Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains test and process equipment and hardware.
  • Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
  • Performs equipment installation and qualification.
  • Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports daily issues.
  • Suggest / Make improvements to the probe and die prep processes.
  • Works directly with production personnel and engineers

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience and may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience.
Nice to Have 
  • AS degree in Engineering or a related discipline. 
  • Broad knowledge of operational systems, techniques and practices typically gained through experience and/or education
  • People skills to understand cultural differences, adapts quickly, and collaborates effectively
  • Good writing and documentation skills
  • Good organizational skills, strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to interface well with peers and Production personnel.
  • Experience with the following equipment: Teradyne J750, SPEA C600MX, Wafer Probers, DISCO   Sawing, August AOI, Die Sorting.
  • Knowledge of DOE, statistical analysis methods and data analysis tools (Minitab, JMP, etc.).
