A Day in the Life


We are embarking on an exciting new Facilities Management strategic transformation across our APAC region. Reporting to the Senior Facilities Manager, APAC and the Senior Finance Director, ANZ the Facilities Manager will be a talented leader and experienced Facilities Management professional. Drawing from previous experience within a large corporate or supplier side FM role, you will drive and implement the Facilities Management strategic change across Australia and New Zealand. This role will offer extensive project and change management along with leadership of a small team across our 7 sites.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing leadership and guidance to the facilities leads across the ANZ region (7 locations)
  • Engaging with the business stakeholders to forecast facilities and real estate demands
  • Collaborating closely with key functional departments (Finance, Sourcing, IT, HR, EHS, Legal) and managing external vendor relationships
  • Improving and standardising contract performance through the development of a governance framework so as to drive cost efficiencies
  • Setting and implementing the Global Facilities standardization strategies across the ANZ region
  • Translating and implementing strategic Medtronic Facility Operations & Real Estate objectives, assuring timely follow up, reporting and completion
  • Owning and managing the delivery of workplace services (additions & alterations, soft & hard services, space management);
  • Developing and managing facilities operating expenses budget, forecasting, variance reporting and accrual management
  • Active participation through collaboration with our Global Facilities Real Estate team on regional capital projects from inception, design development, vendors selection, construction delivery to project closure;
  • Supporting the Global Facilities Real Estate team to complete the key information e.g. Space Occupancy Decision Tools to develop strategies e.g. Stay vs Move
  • Supporting and mentoring the regional site Facilities leads to develop common or standardized work methodologies



Additional Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Facilities Management role within a large multi-site corporate environment or on the supplier side,
  • Excellent collaborator and solver
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to understand complex issues and to develop sustainable solutions with agile execution
  • Ability to develop business case with financials and good presentation skills
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering project performance by conforming to scope, cost and schedule
  • Ability to read technical drawings, in particular Architectural drawings
  • Proven relevant track records in a Corporate office environment
  • Excellent understanding on the key principles and concepts of the entire Real Estate cycle
  • Influence skills by having excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated and performance driven
