The Facilities Service Team Member III works with the Facilities team at the MDT- HeartWare site in Miami Lakes Florida. This critical position interacts daily with maintenance contractors, manufacturing, and quality folks, to ensure the site’s goals and objectives are effectively supported.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
  • Initiates, and monitors daily facility support
  • Executes Daily Checklists (DI Water Systems, HVAC maintenance, Compressed Air Maintenance, CEA Environmental Controls, etc.), Preventive Maintenance activities, following GDPs
  • Provides constant follow up and resolution on incoming requests from internal customers
  • Performs monthly fit for use inspections
  • Daily interaction with manufacturing to ensure manufacturing environment integrity.
  • Responsible for ensuring all utility services are in robust and reliable condition.
  • Coordinate routine and non-routine activities to ensure continuous, optimal operation of facilities and equipment to minimize production downtime.
  • Ensure the integrity of building systems through the development and execution of preventative maintenance activities
  • Supervises hazardous material storages and coordinates/assist in proper disposal
  • Tracks, maintains, inspects, and provides to Safety/Environmental department inventory of Spill Kits in area.
  • Enforces Health, Safety and Environmental practices, including maintenance of Material Safety Data sheets
  • Enforces access controls via computerized system and electronic monitoring.
  • Acts as safety and environmental coordinator for the facility
  • Supervises and oversee site safety plan for fire protection, disaster recovery and evacuations.
  • Initiates and enforces Corporate Policies and Procedures as directed.
  • Provides feedback on building drawings, ensuring they are updated as required.
  • Point of contact for vendors/contractors.
  • Develop and provide reports on project status, key metrics and departmental activity as required.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of maintenance programs consistent with industry best practices. GMPs and company quality assurance requirements.
  • Member of CERT (Chemical Emergency Response Team)
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements 

Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
High School Diploma is required.

Nice to Have 
  • 1-3 years of experience in a regulated industry such as medical device or pharmaceutical
  • 1-3 years of hazardous materials preferred
  • 1-3 years of cleanroom or controlled environment preferred
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Ability to interface with technology
