This position has the responsibility and authority to assist the Facilities Team in the day-to-day operations in manufacturing and office environments. General services provided will include light maintenance, security, reception, mail services, etc.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
  • Support day-to-day facility operations at 3 Medtronic buildings in Louisville during the course of a day.
  • Assist with moving furniture and basic facility maintenance.
  • Collect and distribute US, Interoffice and facsimile transmissions.
  • Keep copier and office supplies stocked in work rooms.
  • Assist in maintaining office equipment.
  • Maintain and set up training rooms for meetings.
  • Spot check of buildings for cleanliness.
  • Stock kitchens with appropriate supplies.
  • Prepare outgoing mail and materials for pickup by USPS/ FedEx/ UPS etc.
  • May be required to drive the box truck for maintenance or a Facilities function.
  • Provide ad hoc administrative support to other departments when required.
  • Utilize problem solving techniques, tact and discretion when handling day-to-day responsibilities and managing requests for information.
  • Assist reception when needed, including answer telephones, greet visitors, direct calls and visitors to appropriate party.
  • Route, update and manage work requests/ orders for Facilities team.
  • Process, track and record invoices for payment.
  • As member of Emergency Response Team, assist with emergency evacuation procedures.
  • Manage security system.
  • Books conference rooms for large and small meetings.
  • Place orders for office and operating supplies.
  • Liaison for Facilities Department vendors, including Housekeeping staff.
  • Complete other duties and responsibilities as requested by Facilities Supervisor, including special projects for other departments.  
  • All activities must be performed in compliance with the Quality System.
  • Performs duties in compliance with environmental, health and safety related site rules, policies or governmental regulations.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Travel requirement: less than 25%
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience
Nice to Have
  • Proficient in the following Microsoft Office Applications: Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal skills- ability to work well with others, as a team.
  • Good communication skills- both verbal and written.
  • Must hold a valid Driver’s License.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Flexible- ability to adapt to changing requirements and priorities.
  • Responsive problem solver and action oriented.
  • Presents a professional, well-groomed image.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, and expend effort to meet schedules and deadlines.
  • Willingness and ability to assume increasing responsibility.
  • Basic mechanical/ electrical knowledge.
