Medtronic Mission: To contribute to human welfare by application of biomedical engineering in the research, design, manufacture, and sale of instruments or appliances that alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life.

Medtronic Tempe Campus owns 30 acres of land with 9 buildings in Tempe. 415,000 square feet of office and manufacturing space along Medtronic Way. Facilities Supervisor leads their team in the upkeep and compliance of grounds, buildings, equipment and systems. Facilities Supervisor works under the guidance of Facilities EHS leader to drive improvement to the campus and is charged with the day-to-day upkeep of the site, infrastructure and critical utilities.

A Day in the Life


Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Daily supervision of a team of technicians including effective communications, training, and development to expedite problem resolution with high standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, OSHA, safety, and on-time delivery.
  • Ensure that all scheduled maintenance and unplanned repairs are communicated and coordinated with appropriate departments and carried out, as required with minimal disruption or impact.
  • Maintain and improve standards of work that ensure all facilities, systems and records are audit/inspection-ready at all times for controlled environment management, regulatory, EHS, and administrative control.
  • Perform day-to-day support of the campus by working closely with the team, interfacing with vendors, contractors, skilled trades, and service providers.
  • Continuously assess the condition of the facility including conditions of the facility structure, interiors, exteriors, and grounds. Oversees staff that installs, inspects, repairs, and maintains building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management.
  • Utilize a computerize maintenance management system to generate reports, check status, and manage team for reactive and schedule work orders. Work with engineers, sourcing, and other functions to support continuous improvement, ensure compliance, and develop best work practices. Report key metrics and make infrastructure improvement recommendations to leadership.
  • Create, manage, and track purchases/invoices/inventory associated with department expenses for external suppliers and services.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience

  • Previous facilities experience in a supervisory role
  • Excellent team work skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
