Finance Analyst

For our Finance Solutions team in Heerlen, the Netherlands.

In this role you will be joining an energetic, open-minded and ambitious team. You will be the business partner for local controllers in our region, the tax and VAT departments, corporate headquarters and the regional controller(s). As part of the EMEA Financial Shared Services Center (FSSC), the Finance Solutions team is involved in a wide spectrum of projects. The support the Finance Solutions team provides is critical to ensure successful completion of these strategic projects. You will be aiding the financial integration of newly acquired companies on SAP, collaborating with VAT and TAX to optimize the existing legal entity structure and supporting other functions on various projects. Finally, you lead/participate in cross-functional European projects on process improvements.

A Day in the Life

As Financial Analyst you will be working on various projects simultaneously, requiring an agile and flexible attitude. For example, some projects might be put on hold for a certain amount of time, while others might suddenly pick up momentum. Furthermore, since you are serving multiple stakeholders within different departments, you need to build up your business acumen and employ various styles of communication.


Aside from being assigned to these projects, there is the long-term ambition that team members are able to identify opportunities themselves by building strategic business cases. You will be given a higher level of autonomy in order to be successful in your role. For the various projects the activities are semi-structured and you will need to find innovative ways to be succeed. Naturally, you will get support in finding these solutions as there is a great collaborative atmosphere and environment for learning within Medtronic.

Must Haves

A willingness to continuously grow and develop yourself, not being afraid to make mistakes and learn;
Able to cope and enjoy a non-structured, fast-paced environment by being flexible and adaptive;
Team player with a hands-on mentality to get the job done in a qualitative manner;
Communicative strong: meaning pro-active in establishing new connections and handling feedback;
Bachelor or Master degree in Finance, Accounting and/or Auditing;
Good command of English and at least 1 other European language;
3-5 years working experience in Accounting, Finance or Auditing;
ERP system experience (SAP is a plus);
Good technical skills (Microsoft applications, data processing, process knowledge);

Good accounting /US GAAP knowledge.
