POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Manage the financial planning and analysis activities for Medtronic Care Management Services (MCMS). Collaborate extensively with corporate, business unit and regional personnel to ensure that MCMS develops and executes sound and successful operating plans, and that it ultimately achieves its goals.  Also collaborate in continuing to improve Medtronic’s financial systems and processes.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage financial planning processes for Medtronic Care Management Services, including operating plans, quarterly forecasts and outlooks.  Advise senior management in setting financial objectives, and then in developing plans to meet those objectives.  
• Key business partner to business executives and functional groups. Promote understanding and accountability across the organization to help teams quickly react to internal and external dynamics requiring changes in business tactics and prioritization of resource utilization.
• Influential leader and key contributor to major organizational change projects including restructuring of resources, contracting design, pricing and incentive strategies, compensation planning and quota targeting, evaluating and executing on acquisitions, and conversion activities related to implementing new ERP systems and other integrated business planning solutions
• Develop and monitor key performance measures (financial and non-financial) to support long-term performance and strategic objectives. In addition, this position will be expected to identify, analyze, communicate and provide suggested solutions to resolve financial issues which impact business objectives.  Key outcomes of this effort will include the quarterly business reviews and the six-quarter forecast.
• Collaborate with sales and marketing on contracts and pricing strategies.  Manage customer and vendor contracts.   
• Organize and structure business information to identify specific risks and opportunities. Apply quantitative and qualitative factors, skills and business experience to arrive at meaningful conclusions and recommendations. Develop innovative alternatives and solutions when issues arise.
• Manage and lead a team and guide direct reports in their daily work promoting their professional development as value added business partners.


Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Bachelors degree required

Minimum of 10 years of finance experience with 7+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of finance experience with 7+ years of managerial experience

  • Demonstrated ability and success working with minimal supervision, including flexibility to changing priorities in a proactive and self-motivated manner.
  • CPA, CFA or other professional credentials preferred
  • Project leadership experience
  • Experience identifying key financial trends and drivers and experience translating financial data into meaningful, concise explanations and presentations
  • In-depth experience using Excel and PowerPoint to communicate strategic and financial plans and results is critical to success in this position
