As a Pricing & Contracting Sr Project Manager, you will be a member of the Global Pricing & Contracting Process & Systems Team.  In this team we are focused on customers, employees, patients and our commitment to the Medtronic mission to alleviate pain, restore health and extend life. 

Your main responsibility as a Pricing & Contracting Sr Project Manager is to lead project management of our global transformational journey that will integrate our pricing strategy into an end-to-end process with supporting organizational structure and system(s) to ensure interoperatability & scalability to maximize value creation.  

This position reports to the Global Pricing & Contracting Process and Systems Director.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

In your daily role, you will be responsible for the project management of our global transformation within the Pricing & Contracting Excellence Program. You collaborate globally with colleagues from other commercial excellence workstreams to gather requirements and align project schedules. You understand their needs around offer development, pricing, quoting, contract development, contract management, rebates and reporting.  To be successful you will closely collaborate with Global and Regional Capability Leaders for Offer Development, Contract & Tender Development & Management and Rebates & Charge Backs.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. 

•    Owns, creates and maintains the overall project plan, focussed on deliverables and timely execution.
•    Oversees and manages the initiation and operational aspects of the program and serves as liaison between project management and planning, (regional) project team(s) and Pricing & Contracting Leadership.
•    Leads or leverages cross functional and/or cross geography teams to evaluate, develop and manage large scale process improvement and technology deployment projects for Global Pricing & Contracting Process & Systems-linked initiatives.
•    Liaises and aligns with the Global and Regional Capability leaders and Global IT on business requirements
•    Reviews status of projects and budget, where applicable; manages schedules, tracks action items,  prepares status reports and actively drives timely execution.
•    Monitors the program from initiation through delivery; navigating in a rapidly changing environment, balancing tradeoffs between scope, schedule and resources.
•    Assesses project issues and effectively escalates or develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.

This role is preferably based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Expected Travel < 25%.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 7+ years of work experience in Finance/and or Accounting (Or Advanced Degree with 5+ years)

Nice to Have

  • Business/Finance Master degree with at least 7 years of Program/Project Management experience
  • Expert-level skills using the tools and techniques of Project Management.  Must have successfully managed multiple projects from conception through commercialization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including management of expectations across a range of different stakeholder interests/priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and influence skills including efficient collaboration, effective negotiation, timely conflict resolution, and creative problem solving of difficult situations such as resource constraints, ambiguous/conflicting requirements, and other roadblocks
  • Excellent team leadership/management skills including effectively managing multi-disciplined teams comprised of individuals with diverse backgrounds
  • You are able to develop enterprise end-to-end processes flows leveraging your contacts in the organization;
  • Able to simultaneously dive into detailed execution and always keep the big picture in focus and able to distill key information needed for your research and KPI driven analytics;
  • Works independently; self-directed
  • Ability to work in rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to work with different time zones everyday
  • Ability to prepare and lead project team meetings with strong continuous improvement mindset
