Medtronic, Inc. is looking for a DevOps Engineer to help develop, maintain and improve our AWS and Azure foundational infrastructure. A Day in the Life


 


  • DevOps Engineer will work directly within Agile DevOps teams supporting

    • Foundational enablement of AWS including security controls

    • Foundational enablement of Azure including security controls

    • Develop, build and maintain customer build projects

  • Typical work includes

    • Gathering and clarifying requirements from engineering staff or customers

    • Collaborate with other DevOps team members

    • Develop, automate and deploy solutions to meet requirements

    • Document and demonstrate solutions

    • Developing, implementing and automating operational processes

  • Adhere to corporate policies, standards and regulations


Must Haves


  • Advanced knowledge of one or more programming languages (python, NodeJS, JavaScript, Powershell)

  • Knowledge and experience in building, developing and deploying within CI/CD pipelines

  • Public cloud project experience with Iaas and/or PaaS.   AWS or Azure.


 


Experience:


 


  • Graduation in Engineering (BE/B.Tech) or Masters in Computer Applications (MCA) from a reputed institute/university.

  • 3- 5 years in DevOps/DevOps Security


Key Responsibilities:


 


  • Collaborate with Development and IT teams to:

  • Automate infrastructure deployment

  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines 

  • Build and maintain observability and alerting across application and infrastructure

  • Automation of manual tasks using scripting

  • Identify bottlenecks in the development process and implement solutions

  • Work with developers to optimize applications for performance and scale

  • Administer AWS/Azure resources and provide guidance on utilization

  • Ensure we are releasing code safely, securely and frequently

  • Investigate and adopt new technologies/tools as needs arise

  • General knowledge and experience

    • Working with cloud resources (AWS and/or Azure)

    • Container technologies

    • Linux

    • Monitoring and alerting

    • Building infrastructure solutions (Network, storage, compute)

  • Independent and self-motivated and able to collaborate with others

  • Strong troubleshooting skills

  • Toolsets include

    • Python, JavaScript, Powershell

    • Git, Jenkins, Artifactory

    • Puppet, Ansible

    • AWS, Azure

    • Kubernetes, Docker

Qualifications:

§ Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Technology (B Tech) or Master of Computer Application (MCA)    from a reputed institute/university.
