A Day in the Life

• Provide structured orthopedic market assessment and define the global orthopedic market segments that Medtronic China local products should play, starting from but not limited to the Trauma market.


• Develop and execute market development strategies and commercial strategies in the market segments we play, with an emphasis on emerging countries. This includes customer and account segmentation, business model, branding and positioning, channel and distribution strategy, removing adoption barriers, differentiating Medtronic in the care pathway, services and solutions, physician education, and enabling technologies.


• Work closely with Regional business partners. Be accountable for international business growth. Develop and monitor profitability, productivity, and growth targets.


• Shape and contribute to the Kanghui strategic plan. Develop long-range objectives and strategic plans by identifying internal and external strategic issues that could affect growth and profitability. Perform financial analysis to support the business strategy and market development initiatives.


• Scan the environment for business opportunities. Maintain surveillance of the market. Lead market studies. Understand industry trends. Analyze the dynamics with business and advise impact on strategic initiatives.


• Work with Kanghui Global Product Marketing team on product pipeline, international product positioning, global product marketing, research and development, education, clinical, and other business strategies and operations.


• Review international talent and ensure the appropriate organizational capability,

leadership development and successor planning.


• Travel requirement: 50%

Must Have: Minimum Requirements
• 10+ years of experience with a BS degree; or
• 6+ years of experience with a MS degree.
• 5+ years of experience in Strategy, Strategic Consulting, Market Development, or Marketing roles
• Proficient in English, both oral and written
• Able to travel internationally on a regular basis

        Nice to Have
        • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and able to handle complexities
        • Results orientated with strong driving capability in a matrix organization environment
        • Able to manage virtual teams across functions and organizations, with proper understanding of multiple cultures
        • Strong people skills in communication and coordination
        • Excellent presentation skills, both oral and written
        • MBA
        • 2+ years of experience in emerging markets
        • 5+ years of experience in the medical device industry
        • Chinese speaking
