Medtronic’s Cardiac Rhythm and Heart Failure (CRHF) business – Advanced Manufacturing Engineering group in Mounds View, MN, is looking for a Laboratory Technician III that will be part of an R&D laboratory, assembling and documenting new technology builds for process, device, and material technologies. This work will support the integration into R&D programs and device manufacturing facilities.

A Day in the Life
  • Performs a variety of technical procedures such as preparing device and material builds per engineering and program requirements.  Runs minor projects including performing experimental tests, recording, and manipulating experimental data
  • Makes and records observations; performs simple calculations; and collects and prepares data for evaluation. Performs technical and record keeping duties and laboratory report publishing duties in conformance with R&D business policies
  • Conducts laboratory support functions such as stocking and distributing supplies and equipment; arranging and dismantling apparatus; may perform calibration and maintenance on equipment.
  • Uses schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment or systems. 
Must Have: Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience and may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience.
Nice to Have
  • Associate of Science Degree in a related discipline
  • Complete and broad knowledge of operational systems, techniques and practices typically gained through extensive experience and/or education.
  • Six Sigma or equivalent exposure and experience with six-sigma techniques and certifications
  • Experience working in a mechanical assembly lab handling unique build requests
  • Experience with various laboratory metrology techniques
