A Day in the Life

Legal Manager

As Legal Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all the organization’s legal functions. You are expected to provide accurate and relevant advice to the busines, involve in contract reviewing, government investigation management, dispute resolution, work with outside counsel, etc. and cover compliance matters if needed.

Key responsibilities include:
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Provides legal advice, counsel and service to internal business clients concerning legal rights, obligations, and privileges of corporations.
  • Draws up contracts involving leases, licenses, purchases, sales, real estate, employment, insurance, mergers, acquisitions, marketing and advertising agencies, research and development, and related matters.
  • Keeps current on legislative issues, statutes, decisions, and ordinances of quasi-judicial bodies.
  • Examines legal data to determine advisability of defending or prosecuting lawsuit.
  • Acts as an agent of corporation in various transactions.
  • Advises company regarding concerns on risk assessment and anti-trust regulations.
  • Must have majored in law.
  • May develop, review, or implement company-wide and/or functionally specific training programs.
  • May also oversee corporate governance matters and its various committees.
  • May work with outside counsel to direct activities.
  • Develops, implements, administers, and certifies compliance policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Ensures alignment with legal and ethical standards of the organization.
  • Provides compliance advice, investigates complaints, and verifies deficiencies are corrected.
  • Develops employee communication and training programs that focus on the elements of a companywide compliance program.
  • Enforces anti-bribery and anti-competition laws.
  • Analyzes metrics and audits functional compliance program.
  • Maintains current knowledge of laws for financial, advertising and marketing reporting, regulations, and industry guidance that impact the company's compliance program.

 

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Requires a University Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years prior relevant experience.


Nice to Have

  • Licensed to practice Law with 3-5 years of experience, OR degree in Law from Universities/Colleges in South Korea with 5-10 years of experience
  • Working experience in pharma/medical devices experience is a strong preference but not a must, open to non-healthcare talents
  • Ability to work independently, think creatively, and handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Displaying personal integrity and commitment to an environment where ethical standards are taken seriously.
  • Strong sense of ownership and follow through with the ability to work closely and develop relationship with internal business stakeholders
  • Team player
  • Good communication skills in English and Korean (written and verbal)
