The Manager, Clinical Education for US Operations manages a geographically diverse team of PACE Coordinators for Medtronic’s MITG (Minimally Invasive Therapies) business. Manages all operations relative to the US Region PACE Group consisting of coordinators in New Haven, Boulder and remote employees. Directs, supervises and develops team of coordinators that oversee all tracking, logistics, budgets, compliance, communications, scheduling and contracts relative to the execution of safe and effective use trainings and all medical education events, the administration and budgeting process of grants, the KOL management database and event metrics (Dashboard and questionnaire analysis). The Manager, PACE US Operations will lead the efforts of process improvement, department digitalization of processes and an analysis and recommendation as to how to improve workflow to lead PACE operations to a largely centralized model. As part of the Senior Director, PACE America’s Leadership Team, this position provides valuable oversight in to the many processes that support physician training and allied health professional training activities. Responsible for ensuring all activities comply with Medtronic and industry guidelines.  Responsible for 

A Day in the Life
  • Manage a team of coordinators that create, track, execute and close out programs that support clinical education and professional affairs . (Peer to Peer, MasterClasses, Clinical Immersion, Grants, KOL database, dashboard, metrics tracking, etc.) 
  • Creates on-boarding program for new consultants and works closely with KOL management team and marketing on content of on boarding services 
  • Establishes and exchanges best practices in PACE operations (e.g. travel arrangements for physicians, metrics tracking, contracting, payments) in collaboration with the PACE operations lead and with other regional business units 
  • Analyses and evaluates current work distribution of all US PACE coordinators in MITG and makes recommendations on improvements 
  • Manage Physician Logistics, Travel, Educational Grants, Contracting and Payment Relations for MITG.
  • Identifies efficiencies in PACE process harmonization and leads PACE Team to ensure these efficacies are realized for the department
  • Evaluates potential for more digitalization in processing 
  • Identifies legacy tasks that should be transitioned to other departments within the organization 
  • Leads streamlining the payment process for HCPs and will lead active implementation of new systems for PACE US Operations
  • Establishes standards for a cohesive execution of all MITG clinical education programs and ensures PACE events are executed flawlessly 
  • serve as key contact point for customers and the field with regard to RDNs various consulting and visit opportunities.
  • Assure all programs align with Medtronic Business Conduct Standards and Compliance.
  • Keep abreast of trends, leading developments and technology (implement as appropriate).
  • Maintains oversight of internal department budget while working with budget analyst to ensure all spends and accruals are reconciled appropriately 
  • Collaborates with Clinical Education Managers and Nurse Education Team regularly regarding in-house program logistics involving surgeons and nurses 
  • Provides quarterly audit of grant process to Senior Director Medical Affairs MITG Americas Region of MITG PACE- US Region to ensure all guidelines are followed as outlined within process and GCC guidelines 
  • Complete audits to meet Corporate Compliance requirements. Perform internal quarterly audits based on feedback from the field, Clinical Education Managers and customers to ensure that programs are successfully meeting requirements. Quarterly reports provided to Senior Director Medical Affairs MITG Americas Region for evaluation
  • creates and manages Calendar of all Americas Medical Affairs programs based on input from MITG Americas Medical Affairs Team and MITG Americas Marketing Team
  • Manages vendors, Vendor contracting and Vendor payments who may provide support for Clinical Education needs
  • Participates in strategic planning sessions within PACE on a regular basis to determine support needs of the group 
  • Provides monthly report of department activities to Senior Director Medical Affairs MITG Americas
  • Ensures all internal systems sites relative to the department are up to date and accurate 
  • Continuously improve the efficiency of the department so that all activities that support the field groups are transparent and focused. 
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders in marketing, compliance, legal, human resources, finance, field sales and executive teams.
  • Takes on other roles and responsibilities as assigned by manager 
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinician relations operations or medical education, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 year experience in in clinician relations operations or medical education
Nice to Have
  • MBA or similar advanced degree
  • Understanding of Medical Education and Training functions
  • 5 or more years experience in clinician relations or medical education
  • Prior experience leading strategy work in a Clinician Relations or Medical Education role.
  • Strong work ethic in accomplishing all objectives of the position.
  • Demonstrated budget management and payment execution skills
  • Strong Project Management experience.
  • Strong Operations experience.
  • Demonstrated People leadership experience
  • Ability to work well, develop and maintain relationships across cross functional areas.
  • Thorough working knowledge of the medical device industry.
  • Demonstrated success working in a collaborative team environment.
  • Extreme attention to detail and organization.
  • Consistent industry‐related track record of success.
  • Customer centric
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingual proficiency in either Spanish and/or Portuguese
  • Strong interpersonal skills
