Title of the document Summary of Position:

Executes on Procedural & Clinical Education (PACE) programs and services that are aligned with corporate strategies in the assigned country. Establishes key relationships with Healthcare Professionals (residents, KOL’s, etc.) to create brand awareness and promote procedural adoption. Continually evaluate and measure the effectiveness of all training and education programs. Recommends and improves all educational programs based on measurable metrics and evaluations. Ensures all training programs meet with and abide by all third-party guidelines, protocols and Country Regulatory Guidelines.

Essential Functions:

  1. Responsible for all PACE related activities within Indonesia for the Minimally Invasive Therapies Group (which includes all GBU’s in MITG). This person will work with the Country Manager, other business leaders and regional medical science leads; to define priorities for HCP training.
  2. Responsible for identified disease state (as aligned with business focus) strategy to identify training needs along with communicating and executing the strategies within the PACE group.
  3. Responsible for managing and executing training budget for all PACE programs within Indonesia.
  4. Work with Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) to develop objectives, agendas and strategies for PACE programs within their targeted disease state.
  5. Manages educational partnerships through regular meetings with Business leaders to discuss program execution and the capturing of procedural adoption data. He/She is also responsible to follow-up with Sales team regularly on the adoption rates for HCPs being tracked on the Adoption Metrics tool. The data will be reported to the Country leader monthly. To do this the individual will be responsible for ensuring all sales personnel and surgeons submit their procedural adoption data pre and post training attendance. He/she will also be responsible to mentor and delegate junior peers in understanding the science behind the technology & product is accurately and effectively communicated by both thought leaders (KOLs) and sales reps.
  6. Drive procedural adoption through the execution of safe & effective use training
  7. Develops & nurtures key opinion leader (KOL) relationships on a local level. Maintains list of KOLs for targeted disease state responsibility. The individual is also responsible to develop strategic collaboration with key societies in (Country) in the developments of HCPs training and education, and preferably all training programs to be accredited by those societies. The key targeted societies are (to be also agreeable with the business leaders and not exhaustive)

  8. To identify and manage hospital partnership in Key Geographical regions within (Country).
    • Identify minimum of (no) hospital partner each within (Country)
  9. Ensures all programs remain compliant with Medtronic policies, APAC Med, AdvaMed, ACCME and other relevant industry guidelines.
  10. Collaborates regularly with key internal stakeholders to include Marketing, Legal, Sales Management, Nurse Team, R&D, Regional Groups and others who may be involved with PACE activities.
  11. Serves as an Expert in designing local context educational programs and raises the bar by creating and implementing new strategies and educational programs to help drive procedural adoption through safe & effective use training.

Short Term Deliverables in 12 months.

  1. To Identify and formalize a partnership with at least 1 Key hospital within (city/country) for us to collaborate and utilize its training facilities for Procedural adoption thru safe and effective training. (Depending on the final budget allocation and approval from CM)
  2. To conduct monthly review meeting with all Business unit leaders and Country leader on the outcome of the Adoption metrics follow-up, activities proposed and conducted, and PACE budget review.
  3. To identify and assess a list of PACE KOLs that addresses the key focus disease state by the business. The KOLs will partner with PACE to coordinate key educational programs (Masterclass, Proctoring program, Scientific Forums / Expert Group Forum).

Title of the document Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's Degree Required

Additional Requirements:

  • Preferred Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Biology. Equivalent business or clinical experience preferred.
  • Preferred Minimum 7-10 years successful sales and marketing experience with MITG or secondary related medical device industry preferred. Medical Education experience highly desirable.
  • Skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet
  • Ability to meet deadlines, good interpersonal skills, ability to handle multiple, complex tasks, ability to maintain composure under pressure
  • Strong presentation and planning skills

  • Requires travel on routine basis (> 60% of time.)
  • Frequent travel time in own car to meet HCPs in Hospitals (>70% of time)
  • Requires to work on weekend workshop courses


The CEM/CES reports to the Head of PACE and Clinical Specialist/Manager will work closely with Marketing, the local Sales Team, R&D Team, national and local thought leaders, local and national societies, and other strategic hospitals.


Key element is flexibility and ability to work independently. Travel associated with this position; requires air travel on routine basis (up to 60% of time.), frequent travel time in own car to clients. Some weekend travel to labs or courses.
