Working as part of the Global Commercial Enablement Team is essential in our role towards our customers & patients and our commitment to the Medtronic mission to alleviate pain, restore health and extend life. As a Principal Pricing Strategy analyst, you are part of a team that is responsible for the overall functional design and deployment of our global pricing system and tools which enable us to execute on our pricing strategy.

 

Your main responsibility is to extract pricing and rebate related data from (pricing) systems. Turning the data into information that gives insight to our pricing performance and capabilities, as well as areas of improvement to create value. Close collaboration with our global rebate stakeholders to discuss the analysis and develop an end-to-end process for rebate management, is required. This role will further drive process optimization changes across the organisation around rebate management. Your findings are input to the team for further pricing system improvement.

 

Next to your primary duty for analytics you are part of a global team that is responsible for the global pricing system and the pricing hierarchy. You are aware of our pricing systems capability and are able to contribute to the global design and its documentation. In this role you are an ambassador for pricing systems and pricing best practices across the organization and you are one of the go-to experts and consultant in the design for the global pricing system and its pricing hierarchy. You can demonstrate the pricing software to an audience in the context of business requirements and value proposition. You are willing to travel to on-board and spread knowledge across the organization to (new) users of our pricing solution(s) and rebate capabilities.

 

Besides the above you will participate in several projects aimed at commercial and operational excellence, along with design reviews to evaluate and ensure that the design being applied meets business needs, policies, principles, and standards.

 


A Day in the Life

 
  • Rebate analytics
    • Work with disparate sources of data and come up with a common base for analytics
    • Analyze rebate data to find opportunities for revenue growth and margin expansion while analyzing rebate data at granular level and collaborating with stakeholders to understand rebate process.
    • Research our pricing data in the area of rebate management and identify opportunities, gaps and/or areas of improvement
    • Visualize analytical outcomes in dashboards and reports that are easy to understand for business users
    • Report out on analytics and partner with the relevant stakeholders to capture value
    • In regions and countries where we have no analytics develop an end-to-end process for rebate analytics
 
  • Act as a pricing business systems expert and consultant to the support the local pricing teams
    • Analyze, identify opportunities and pinpoint gaps or issues in current system capabilities
    • Review, analyse business and user needs leading to the scope definition, design and documentation via the business user requirement documents (BRDs)
    • Communicate proposed solutions to the software development team
    • Review as-is and to-be process flows around the pricing system with local or shared service stakeholders
    • Participate in and lead Functional user testing (FUT) and User acceptance testing (UAT) sessions locally with expert/end users
    • Collaborate cross functionally with other teams for e.g. IT (SAP) and master data 
  • To conduct end user trainings locally and globally for pricing and rebate systems, Configure Price Quote (CPQ) & Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) solutions and rebate solutions. 
  • Support our Product Pricing Hierarchy process (PPH)
    • Understand and act as a consultant to our product pricing hierarchy
    • Collaborate with stakeholders and support teams to work on continuous PPH improvement
Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience

Nice to Have
  • Using Business Intelligence Platform (BI), Database (SQL, Access, highly advanced Excel), Tableau or similar tools you are able to do research and prepare (visual) dashboards and reports that help our stakeholders to give insight on how to improve business performance.
  • Experience working in a Multi-national environment and/or working in a project oriented team
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite like Access, Visio, Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • You are able to develop enterprise end-to-end processes flows leveraging your contacts in the organization
  • Expertise in problem solving techniques to efficiently drive analytics and review possible solutions
  • Expertise with Advanced analytics and Business Modeling/Predictive analytics
  • Functional experience with Vendavo EPS Pricing suite or similar pricing software is perceived as a benefit
  • Experience in drawing and framing logical conclusions
  • Experience in the Medical Device Industry
