Principal Cloud Engineer
Careers that Change Lives
We value what makes you unique. Be a part of a company that thinks differently to solve problems, make progress, and deliver meaningful innovations.
Join a diverse team of innovators who bring their worldview, their unique backgrounds, and their individual life experiences to work every day. It’s no accident —we work hard to cultivate a workforce that reflects our patients and partners. We believe it’s the only way to drive healthcare forward and remain a global leader in medical technology and solutions.
The Cardiac Management brings all of our cardiac and vascular businesses together into one cross-functional, collaborative operating unit to employ the full breadth of our talent, technologies, products, services, and solutions to address the needs of customers and patients across the globe.
Cardiac Rhythm Management offers devices and therapies to treat abnormal heart rhythms, as well as cardiac diagnostic and monitoring solutions.
We are looking for a talented Principal Cloud Engineer for our Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) Software division. This role will be a key player for leading the transformation from a more traditional infrastructure support team to a Platform Engineering team.
This person should have a passion for “automating us out of a job”.
With some good core processes already in place using AWS, Terraform, Ansible, and Octopus Deploy, this role is looking to build on the success of the infrastructure automation already in place and turn it into true IAC that can be consumed by the development teams.  The first phase is to finish out what exists for the more traditional AWS deployments and follow that up with maturing the same principles on our new platform of AWS/Kubernetes (EKS) as applications move over.
This is largely a hands-on role but will also be expected to mentor and train where necessary to the broader team.  The person in this role should have a passion for the journey to a Platform Engineering and want to bring their experience and expertise in doing so to a new company that is eager for modernization.
