In this exciting role as a Principal Software Quality Engineer, you will be responsible to ensure software products meet or exceed customer expectations for quality and reliability.  The position contributes to product development and regulatory compliance by defining, implementing and demonstrating achievement of quality and reliability goals, and supporting the product lifecycle through continual product and process improvement initiatives. This position also performs, facilitates and supports product risk assessment and failure analysis. 
The Restorative Therapies Group develops life-restoring therapies and healthcare solutions that span the care continuum; integrating technologies and applying clinical and economic evidence to increase patient access, improve efficiency of procedures and deliver successful patient outcomes.

TRANSFORMATIONAL SOLUTIONS is dedicated to developing technology that improves outcomes for doctors and their patients. Our electrosurgical products are designed to assist surgeons during a variety of procedures, including orthopedic, spinal, surgical oncology, plastic/reconstructive, and ENT applications.

A Day in the Life


Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.


Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Science field with 7+ years of work experience in Engineering, Software Engineering and/or Software Quality OR Masters Degree in Engineering or Science field with 5+ years of work experience in Engineering, Software Engineering and/or Software Quality. 

Nice to Have
  • 5+ years of work experience in Software Quality Engineering, SW/FW Engineering in medical device industry.
  • Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science strongly preferred. 
  • Design, development and testing experience.
  • Functional knowledge and expertise in product development, software development, software lifecycle processes, regulatory requirements, international standards and risk management.
  • Working knowledge of applicable industry standards.
  • Experience in software reliability – reliability prediction and reliability growth.
  • Experience in medical device cybersecurity and its implementation.
  • Experience with LabView program development and validation for use in automated test systems (ATE).
  • Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Ability to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, and practicable, and consistent with organizational objectives.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks/projects and manage priorities accordingly.
  • Team lead and/or project management experience preferred.
  • Abilty to work in a team environment and exert influence without alienating others.
  • Experience and working knowledge of statistical analysis methods/software preferred.
  • Experience in the application of statistical methods.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • General knowledge of other related disciplines.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
