The primary responsibilities of the role are leadership and coordination of the Indirect tax compliance process in addition to managing audits and tax research.  This position will report to the Director, Indirect Tax. 


A Day in the Life

  • Manage sales tax compliance process.
  • Prepare or review use tax filings.
  • Personal property tax return preparation or review.
  • Assist with vendor and customer requests related to sales tax.
  • Manage sales, use and property tax audits.
  • Reconciliation of sales and use tax accounts and journal entries. 
  • Responsible for tax research, system maintenance and tax planning.
  • Identify and review opportunities for sales tax refunds and manage filings of tax incentives.
  • Assist in the preparation of sales and use tax guidelines and provide training.
  • Assist with indirect tax integration related to acquisitions.
  • Oversee staff in the accomplishment of above duties.
  • Educate business on tax law or tax process changes and updates.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience

Nice to Have

  • SAP experience
  • Experience managing sales and use tax audits.
  • 3+ years managing indirect tax compliance process
  • Vertex experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work with and analyze large amounts of data using various application platforms
  • Excellent oral and verbal skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work within a matrix organization
