A Day in the Life


Your role will be to provide leadership, program management and material expertise for the MITG EU MDR Hazardous substance workstream. Working with multiple functions and business units from around the globe you will ensure:

·         that plans are prepared and implemented for all relevant MITG products to ensure that they are assessed for compliance to the upcoming EU MDR Hazardous substances requirements

·         that all necessary mitigation activity is identified and completed in time to ensure compliance

·         to ensure updates are made to the existing change control and new product development processes to ensure ongoing compliance


The role will require extensive communication and collaboration with colleagues and management based around the globe and from many different functions.


Responsibilities Include:

The primary role involves working with product engineering teams and other functions to:

Provide technical expertise to MITG business units

Identify products that require assessment

Ensure assessments are carried out (either through product testing, supplier certifications and/or using available data) to establish product status versus the EU MDR Hazardous substances

Ensure product engineering teams carry out all required mitigation to make products compliant to the EU MDR Hazardous Substances requirements ahead of the regulation deadline

Ensure all results and activity is properly documented and tracked

Ensure updates are made to the existing change control and new product development processes to ensure ongoing compliance

Provide clear and regular communications to all stakeholders

Identify, address and/or escalate any risks as they arise

Provide regular updates to the EU MDR and Business Unit leadership

Lead efforts in creating and managing database for tracking compliance to EU MDR

Secondary roles include:

Supporting the rollout of Corporate guidelines and processes related to the EU MDR Hazardous Substance regulations

Working closely with test lab to prioritise and ensure timely delivery of results

Must Have: Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a technical/engineering discipline preferably incorporating either Material Science, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering  

Minimum 5 years’ experience leading and project managing large multi-function technical initiatives

Strong communication skills

Project management qualification or suitable experience

The role is flexible in relation to global location but candidate must be able to interact constructively with teams located globally and particularly with key teams located in the NE USA and Colorado USA regions


Nice to Have

Material sciences or chemistry qualification

Experience of global multi-site cross functional compliance initiatives

Knowledge of EU MDR regulation and/or other material regulations

PMP qualification or equivalent
