The Regional Reimbursement Economic Consultant provides reimbursement support to sales personnel and customers including physicians, hospitals, integrated health centers and other healthcare providers for Structural Heart and Cardiac Surgery therapies. Stakeholders including KOLs, Payers, and health systems providing care to patients are the primary audiences for collaboration. Having a working knowledge of the US coding and payment systems is essential. Additionally, the role will provide internal and customer support to help identify specific payer issues and develop plans to improve coverage. 

A Day In The Life
  • Evaluates the economic impact of the use of products and therapies on hospitals, physicians and payers. 
  • Develops hospital educational programs related to coverage, coding and reimbursement. 
  • Implements programs to resolve/decrease economic barriers for use of products and therapies in all care settings. 
  • Conducts financial reviews, benchmarking, and presentations for hospital and physician customers. 
  • Provides training and education programs to sales force, physicians, program and clinic coordinators, hospital administration and executives, and financial and billing employees in clinics and hospitals. 
  • Works closely with the reimbursement strategy team to implement policy and payment changes with field sales force and customers through education and services. 
  • Works with customers/accounts to develop advocacy campaigns that support coverage and payment strategies. 
  • Works with key customers/accounts to develop partnership strategies to promote cost-effective delivery of company's therapies and opportunities for therapy adoption. 

Must Have; Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience working in health economics, healthcare consulting, account management, or finance with a Bachelors degree OR Minimum 8 years with a Masters. 
Nice To Have
  • Master’s degree (MBA or MHA preferred) or advanced degree in health policy, health services research, economics, biostatistics, epidemiology, public administration, clinical research or a related discipline 
  • Highly knowledgeable of cardiovascular therapies, particularly coronary, structural heart and cardiac surgery 
  • Experience working in medical device industry, hospital administration, managed care or related health care field. 
  • Highly knowledgeable of Medicare and US commercial payers 
  • Highly knowledgeable of provider economics 
  • Skilled and engaging presenter, including executive-level audiences 
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills 
  • Highly knowledgeable of HCPCS/CPT and ICD-10 coding 
  • Understanding of and experience with health economic methods, including cost-effectiveness analyses
