This role is funded through April of 2022, with the intention to establish a permanent role within Global Supply Chain once the transformation program is complete. The permanent role has not yet been approved, and if it is not approved and you are employed though the date the role is funded you will be eligible to receive severance in accordance with the terms of Medtronic’s Severance Pay Plan in effect at the time of termination

The Medtronic Global Supply Chain (GSC) Organization is driving a transformation focused on improving business outcomes for internal and external stakeholders. There are various strategic focus areas (workstreams) for the GSC transformation including Plan, Deliver, Trade and end-to-end visibility. Additionally, there are 3 enabling workstreams Functional Excellence, Data and analytics and Knowledge Management. The Data & Analytics Analyst is responsible for supporting the Data & Analytics strategy and implementation plans across the various focus areas (workstreams) by partnering with the Enterprise Process Leaders (EPL’s) and Program Managers.

 

The Data and Analytics Analyst, partnering with the Sr. Manager of Data & Analytics, will support strategies and programs to standardize, optimize, and innovate key processes, master data management, reporting, metrics and insights. The candidate will interact with all Business Groups, Regions and Functions including the Global Operations & Business Services Analytics and Insights organization to increase efficiency, effectiveness, and proactive decision-making via the rapid delivery of information and knowledge to users throughout the organization.

 

A Day in the Life

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, Enterprise Process Leaders (EPL’s) and Program Managers to support the development and the execution of a GSC roadmap for operational analytics, predictive modeling, reporting and data management that will transform the organization to be data driven and metrics based.
  • Develops, inspects, mines, transforms, and models data to raise productivity, improve decision making, and gain competitive advantage.
  • Conducts statistical analysis on data and information to ensure correct predictive forecasting or classification.
  • Utilize key operational and transactional data to create actionable insights across Plan, Deliver, Trade Operations and E2E Visibility workstreams that will improve operational performance. 
  • Establish and maintain standard processes and templates to manage data from multiple sources for key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Advise, define, create and test visualization and reporting of KPIs
  • Maintain clear and consistent metrics and scorecards across all key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure efficiencies.
  • Create, consolidate and communicate reports and key data to stakeholders
  • Advise on transforming lagging metrics to leading metrics to drive proactive decision-making
  • Maintain an end-to-end perspective across Commercial, Plan, Source, Make, and Deliver while identifying improvement recommendations (supported by data and metrics) for Supply Chain.
  • Support data stewardship and data governance activities and initiatives as needed
  • Support Governance Practices and Policies to manage curated data sets and KPI/metric definitions. Align with GO&BS Governance structure and policies.
  • Drive standard data definitions and language by partnering with Information Technology in providing a common A&I infrastructure design via the creation of technology solutions
  • Identify opportunities to leverage advanced analytics across the business to effect better business outcomes; drive the execution and realization of business benefits in partnership with other GO&BS teams
  • Maintain alignment with Global Operations and Business Services (GO&BS) Analytics and Insights strategy
  • Drive common platforms, tools, data, and processes across GSC Groups and Regions and build an inventory of best practices to share

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 4 years of analytics/insights experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years experience
  • 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Operations, Supply Chain, Supply Management, Procurement/Sourcing, Manufacturing
  • Proficient in advanced Excel, SQL and analytics/reporting tools
  • Strong technical experience in data management platforms and program management systems including but not limited to Microsoft Project, Excel, Access, SAP, BW, BEx, Power BI, Tableau or similar data visualization system, Cloud- based data infrastructure, and Program Management Metrics, Scorecarding, and Reporting
Nice to Have:

  • Data analytics, risk management and financial competence
  • Program metrics migration from legacy systems to new, cloud-based framework
  • Reporting/Dashboarding Design experience
  • Lean Six Sigma or Design for Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Proven track record of successfully managing data
  • Experience integrating financial reports
  • Influencing: ability to accomplish goals through influence across the enterprise
  • Business-minded: ability to understand business challenges and opportunities
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Global experience, inclusion and orientation
  • Ability to work collaboratively and partner with employees, leaders, clients, and vendors
  • Ability to simply and clearly convey and communicate complex concepts
