  • This position forms part of the APAC Planning Innovation Hub, which is a newly formed team within the APAC Planning COE.
  • The APAC Planning Innovation Hub is an Integrated control tower, managing the demand, supply, analytics, digitization activities across APAC Supply Chain Planning. The Innovation Hub has end-to-end visibility of the network and is expected to intervene proactively to mitigate risk and avoid disruption. This will be enabled by supply chain digitization, synergies from process standardisation and centralization of work in a multi-language shared service model across all of APAC.
  • The APAC Planning Innovation Hub together will work together with the COE will develop and align Planning strategies and innovations in close collaboration with the APAC Supply Chain Leadership, Global Supply Chain as well as Business Groups and Finance to develop best in class solutions and processes to our supply chain to provide our customers with the best experience possible.
  • This position will be directly responsible for supporting the Demand Planning activities across all operating units in APAC. This includes preparation and analyis of information required for the execution of Integrated Business Planning (IBP) activities, providing data and analytics for the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes as well as improving forecast accuracy for the operating units within APAC.
  • Other responsibilites include identification, prioritizaton and execution of initiatives to streamline and optimize current demand planning activities for the region/operating unit.
  • Provide support in terms of data, analytics, support activities for the monthly S&OP and demand review calls with the Commercial teams. This includes data preparation, data analysis to challenge Commercial team forecasts, uploading forecasts into the system. Documenting market intelligence – risks and opportunities and translating that to final forecast numbers will be key.
  • Responsible for driving forecasting accuracy, move to statistical forecasts, driving accountabilty with Commercial teams which will indirectly lead to reducing excess and non-essential inventory.
  • This role will work closely with the local Region Supply Chain teams, APAC COE teams and Global Operating unit planners.


A Day in the Life

  • Support the monthly demand reviews with the Operating units at the country/sub-region level. Responsibilities include the following but is not limited to:
  • Data Preparation for IBP steps, Monthly S&OP, any forecast reviews
  • Data Analytics on outliers, low forecast accuracy, high bias and other codes which need to be looked into
  • Supports monthly demand planning process in the sub-region by providing data and other support in terms of execution (eg loading forecast files, IBP deck preparation, Opportunity-Risk Assessment)
  • Liaise with local Supply Chain contacts on Integrated Business Planning as well as day to day issues
  • Monitors forecast accuracy and takes corrective actions to address performance
  • Leverages existing tools to support day to day activities
  • Manages abnormal demands as they arise in a timely manner – tenders, competitor response
  • Regular liaison with local Supply Chain teams to maintain and update the plans
  • Upload consensus on the unconstrained, unbiased, time-phased demand plan (what we will sell + non-revenue units to support the business) and resulting financials – volume, revenue and margin
  • Understand and agree on underlying assumptions, measuring and checking value-add through each cycle from the local regional supply chain teams
  • Identify gaps to objectives, and set priorities and action plans to close those gaps to commitments and performance measure targets
  • Ensure transparency and clear documentation of risks and opportunities, and build mitigation/exploitation plans in response
  • Minimize working capital costs by improving forecast accuracy and hence improving product mix, reducing excess inventory while delivering against service level objectives.
  • Work closely with local regional Supply Chain teams, Global Supply Chain teams to support new product launches and product transitions while achieving performance targets on service level, working capital, and SOGL.
  • Provide analysis of key KPI’s and financial data to identify performance and improvement opportunities and execute on those initiatives.
  • Incorporate structure in the daily/weekly/monthly activities of a Demand planner so as to be able to streamline current processes, identify opportunities for improvement and execute accordingly so that planners can move from higher percentage of tactical tasks to more analytical and value-added activities.
  • Collaborate with other functions within the APAC Planning COE so as to deliver on the initiatives and goals of the APAC Planning COE.
  • All other duties as assigned by manager.


Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience


Your Profile

  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain
  • Preferred 2-5 years experience in Supply Chain. Fresh graduates welcome to apply.
  • Experience in Medical Device Industry
  • Lean, Six Sigma green or black belt certification is a bonus
  • Effective and seasoned working in a matrix organization and multi-level stakeholder management
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally in English, both written and orally, to wide variety of audiences
  • Proven evidence and role model of Medtronic Leadership Expectations.
