This position is a remote-based position on interim basis due to Covid19 Pandemic. Upon approval of ‘Return to Office” site guidelines, this role will require the individual to work onsite.

This position will provide strategic and annual financial planning, forecasting, and analysis of direct and indirect distribution expense for certain Neuroscience therapies and will work closely with key stakeholders across Sales Leadership, Sales Finance, FP&A and Operating Units.  You will work on projects developing standards and deploying solutions with a lens towards harmonization/standardization, sustainability and optimization.  You will become a functional expert with the ability to work across multiple operating units.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

•    Perform FP&A duties for direct and indirect distribution spending, including compensation and discretionary spending for sales professionals.
•    Deliver monthly expense analysis and forecasting, including key drivers and risk and opportunities for Sr Sales Leadership, Operating Unit partners and Finance leadership. 
•    Provide Field Sales Cost Center Reporting including rollout of AOP budgets for field sales and monthly performance vs. budget. 
•    Develop the annual operating plan (AOP) for Sales Expense, including spending options to support strategic initiatives. Partner with functional areas to maintain control of budgeted spend such as marketing, meetings, travel, training, awards or Presidents trip. 
•    Quantify Gap to Target & Actions Needed – provide gap analysis (variance, main drivers, trends observed, and options for reducing gaps  
•    Compensation planning with Total Rewards: identification of improvement, cost impact, comp design meetings, approval and implementation/communication
•    Maintain and report key cost performance metrics, attainment measures, fixed and variable expense analysis against sales. 
•    Maintain Field Expense policies, assess cost containment and standardization opportunities, implement and communicate as appropriate.
•    Collaborate with Functions in highly matrixed org, such as HR, Payroll, Corporate Accounting, Marketing and IT.
•    Prepare and track monthly expense accruals and reconciliations in coordination with Corporate Accounting, Payroll and Controller functions. 
•    Proactively identify expense related issues and provide resolutions. Become a trusted resource to functional stakeholders.   
•    Leverage insights to make continuous improvement recommendations and implement approved actions

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

•    Bachelor’s Degree with 4+ years of work experience in Finance and/or Accounting (Or Advanced Degree with 2+ years)

Nice to Have
•    BS / BA in Accounting, Finance or related field
•    MBA strongly preferred 
•    Strong business acumen; ability to learn/understand the business and influence key stakeholders at various management levels to drive and increase value to the organization.
•    Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify key trends and drivers and the proven experience translating financial data into meaningful, concise information
•    Ability to effectively and efficiently utilize systems/data to provide insightful analysis and implement recommendations.
•    Demonstrate a high level of initiative and self-motivation. Ability to work independently, possess critical, excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle ambiguity in an unstructured environment.
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written; ability and willingness to effectively present to various levels of management.
•    Strong work ethic; proven track record for delivering on commitments.
•    Experience in a fast paced high-technology environment, preferably in the medical device industry.
•    Proven experience with financial planning and reporting functions and developing financial analytics that deliver solid business performance. 
•    Experience with projects that require high matrix collaboration, building relationships and influence.  
•    Ability to work well under pressure
•    Tactful, exercises independent judgment and discretion
•    Intellectual agility and ability to learn fast
•    Systems experience with SAP, Essbase/Hyperion & Business Objects.
•    Experience with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint
•    Experience with Essbase/Hyperion strongly preferred
•    Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) work experience preferred
