Senior Health Economics & Outcomes Research Specialist

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

• Bachelors degree required
• 4 years of relevant experience in healthcare industry working with health care data (medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech, insurance, hospital, health system or health department)
• Or 2 years of post-graduate experience in healthcare industry working with health care data (medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech, insurance, hospital, health system or health department)

Nice To Have

• PhD, MS, MPH, or MHA
• Postgraduate training or experience in health economics, health policy, epidemiology or health services research
• Experience working with administrative claims data
• Experience in medical device or pharmaceutical industry
• Proven ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed organization
• Proven relationship-building and maintaining skills with internal and external stakeholders including physician customers, hospital administrators or payers
• Experience working with health care claims, administrative, or patient discharge data as a health service researcher, epidemiologist, data programmer or economist
• Proficiency programming using statistical software (e.g. SAS, STATA, R, etc.)
• Demonstrated competency in database file manipulation, data analysis and graphical presentation. 
• Strong quantitative skills, preferably with training in econometrics or statistics
• An understanding of health insurance and the U.S. health care system
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially the ability to communicate complex analytical techniques in a way that is understandable by non-quantitative audiences
• Experience in the analysis, synthesis, and presentation of complex data from multiple sources
• Project management experience; demonstrated consultative mindset
