SENIOR HEALTH ECONOMIC & OUTCOMES RESEARCHER

 

The Cardiac and Vascular Group (CVG) brings all of our cardiac and vascular businesses together into one cross-functional, collaborative operating unit to employ the full breadth of our talent, technologies, products, services, and solutions to address the needs of customers and patients across the globe. As part of CVG, the Cardiac Rhythm and Heart Failure group offers devices and therapies to treat abnormal heart rhythms, as well as cardiac diagnostic and monitoring solutions.

The Senior Health Economic and Outcomes Researcher (HEOR) will be a critical leader on the Cardiac Rhythm and Heart Failure (CRHF) HEOR team. The Senior Researcher is responsible for providing strategic, analytical and methodological expertise to support 1) the development and implementation of strategic reimbursement and economic value initiatives for emerging and commercialized CRHF products, therapies and services on a global basis, and 2) the development of global health economic and outcomes evidence for CRHF products, therapies and services on a global basis. While this role may be called upon to support multiple therapy areas, primary focus is on the Atrial Fibrillation Solutions business.

 

A Day In The Life

 

  • Develop and execute global economic value strategies for integration into the development, sales and marketing of the portfolio of CRHF products, therapies and services
  • Envision, develop and execute economic evidence generation activities including cost-effectiveness modeling, budget impact modeling and outcomes research using real world data
  • Ensure relevant data points are integrated into clinical trials to support future evidence-based economic value messages
  • Provide input on evidence gaps and support for planning post-clinical activities, educational activities, health economic and outcomes research activities and /or other support needs to fill gaps 
  • Develop therapeutic and device operation knowledge and apply this knowledge to evidence needs
  • Facilitate meetings with health care professionals, economic consultants and senior internal personnel as required to support strategic development or tactical implementation.
  • Act as a member (core or extended) of clinical study and product development teams to insure appropriate inclusion of economic stakeholder needs
  • Partner with regional economic managers group on critical “hand-offs” which includes translation of evidence into economic stakeholder messages and development of economic tools and customer resources
  • Participate in the annual operating and strategic planning processes to represent the interest of the assigned devices and services in a prioritized manner based on greatest potential contribution to business threat and potential growth

Must Have; Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 4 years experience in health economics, health policy, epidemiology or health services research with Bachelor’s degree, 2 years with an advanced degree
Nice To Have
  • PhD, MPH, or MHA
  • Postgraduate training or experience in health economics, health policy, epidemiology or health services research
  • Training and experience in health economics, health policy, epidemiology or health services research
  • Training and experience in cost modeling and health economic and outcomes analysis using clinical trial data and/or real world data assets
  • Project management experience; demonstrated consultative mindset
  • Experience in healthcare industry (medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech, insurance, hospital, health system)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially the ability to communicate complex analytical techniques in a way that is understandable by non-quantitative audiences
  • Experience in the analysis, synthesis, and presentation of complex data from multiple sources
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed organization
  • Proven relationship-building and maintaining skills with internal and external stakeholders including physician customers, hospital administrators or payers
  • Proven ability to strategically manage a portfolio of projects or initiatives with high business acumen
  • Familiarity with atrial fibrillation, ablation, cardiac anatomy and physiology
