A Day in the Life


The role of the Senior IT Project Lead is to establish and maintain appropriate governance, update, deployment and execution of the MP3 framework to ensure standard, repeatable efficient project execution. This is achieved through effective:

§  Organization and Leadership

§  Business case and Benefits management

§  Stakeholder management and Communications

§  Risk management and issue resolution

§  Planning and control

§  Quality management

§  Organizational Development




§  Graduation in Engineering (BE/B.Tech) or Masters in Computer Applications (MCA) from a reputed institute/university.

§  10+ years of IT experience with a Bachelor’s Degree


Key Responsibilities:


§  Establish MP3 framework governance

§  Comply with all Corporate policies, Standards, Procedures, and Processes

§  Establish best practices for developing, implementing, standardizing, and maintaining project management processes and documentation

§  Provide consultative services to users who are interested in employing the MP3 framework

§  Analyze and quantify the impact of proposed changes to the MP3 framework and its maintenance

§  Implement corrections, maintenance and/or approved changes to the MP3framework

§  Author updates to MP3 documentation

§  ensuring the reader’s perspective of the material

§  ensuring the related artifacts and training materials are duly changed

§  with an understanding of the impact on the project management process

§  Partner with other SMEs and organizational support groups in the coordination of changes to the MP3 framework

§  Manage or oversee MP3 training across the EPMO and IT globally

§  Provide MP3 coaching and leadership

§  Coaches team members to ensure MP3 process adherence and effective project management, utilizing best practice project management skills, as well as framing and resolving issues through best practices.

§  Communicate changes to the framework via release notes and articles

§  Present the benefits of the framework

§  On-going review and update of MP3 artifacts



§  Matrix team management responsibilities

§  Facilitation skills

§  PMP or Member of Project Management Institute/Association of Project Management

§  Advanced level of competency in Microsoft Project, Microsoft Project Server and Microsoft Office

§  Advanced Degree

§  Program Management Qualifications, e.g. Managing Successful Programs (MSP) or equivalent

§  Risk Management Qualifications, e.g. Management of Risk (MoR) or equivalent

§  Ability navigate Medtronic’s people network


Specialized Knowledge or Skills Required:


§  Experience in the development and maintenance of a project management framework

§  Understanding of Program and Project Management

§  Training development and content management experience

§  Strong written and verbal communication skills

§  Advanced level of competency in report writing and English grammar
