Join the Operations Excellence team for Medtronic Diabetes. In this position, you will have responsibility for leading and facilitating lean sigma projects and large scale continuous improvement initiatives within Operations, partnering with functions such as R&D, Supply Chain and Sourcing.  You will be an integral part of transforming the organization and driving culture change. This role will report into the Director of Operations Excellence for the Diabetes Group.

A Day in the Life


Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.


  • Develops, implements and sustains process improvement initiatives utilizing DMAIC A3, Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Establishes structure in Voice of Operations in PDP (product development process)
  • Implements cell manufacturing systems
  • Defines, designs and implements continuous improvement programs to ensure programs are integrated vertically and horizontally across the organization.
  • Defines improvement projects aligned with business strategies.
  • Analyzes improvement programs and potential results.
  • Facilitates and coaches improvement teams.
  • Establishes and maintains performance metrics to measure program success.
  • Coaches and mentors problem solving capability across the organization.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
Nice to Have
  • Experience in facilitation at all levels of organization, and leading change through cross-functional teams in a matrix organizations
  • Experience analyzing complex issues and making recommendations to improve, change or adapt exiting methods.
  • Experience with establishing Voice of Operations/Voice of Customer in PDP process
  • Knowledge of and exposure to manufacturing and/or engineering processes and to lean sigma/total quality management methodologies
  • Proven knowledge and experience in integrating a Quality Based and continuous improvement culture change.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with ability to interface and influence at various levels of organization
  • Self-starter, works independently and maintains positive, enthusiastic attitude
  • Lean Sigma Black Belt Certification
