As a Senior Marketing Communications Manager in the Restorative Therapies Group (RTG), you will lead, coach, and develop a team based in Memphis, Tennessee, responsible for creating integrated, omnichannel communications programs that generate awareness, influence behavior, and drive adoption of Medtronic Spine and Biologics solutions. You will collaborate with marketing leaders and functional partners, applying your strategic thinking, communications, digital, and analytic skills to develop measurable, outcomes-based communications plans supporting key initiatives. This includes product launches, promotional campaigns, and industry conferences and events. 


Additionally, you will join the RTG Brand/Marketing Communications leadership team and collaborate with your peers on efforts to strengthen team engagement and advance communications excellence, with a focus on digital delivery and measurement. As a Medtronic brand steward, you will collaborate with marketing leaders to create compelling, on-brand messages that inspire action and affirm our market leadership.


This position is based in Memphis, Tennessee.

A Day in the Life

You will:

  • Serve as the marketing communications leader for the Spine and Biologics business
  • Lead the development and implementation of integrated communications plans supporting key business initiatives
  • Shape messaging and provide counsel for major business intiatives, including product launches, promotional campaigns, and conventions and society meetings
  • Recommend outcomes-based communications strategies, messages, and channel mix, with a focus on digital
  • Identify creative ways to pull through and amplify messages, using multiple channels
  • Establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of communications efforts and inform improvements/adjustments to future initiatives
  • Engage key functions in plan development and execution, including Global Communications and Corporate Marketing, Public Relations, Employee Communications, and Global Digital and Social Media (GDSM)
  • Cultivate collaborative relationships with marketing leaders and cross-functional business partners
  • Actively lead and track the development and delivery of timely, relevant content for key audiences across all channels
  • Manage projects, budgets, and vendors to ensure the timely, cost-effective delivery of high-quality, on-brand work
  • Collaborate with peers in RTG Brand/Marketing Communications to continuously improve processes, drive new approaches to communication and elevate the value of the function
  • Lead, develop, and direct a team of communications professionals
  • Create a collaborative, inclusive environment
  • Ensure quality system and compliance requirements are understood, and adhered to by team members
  • Assist with additional projects as needed to promote the visibility and value of RTG Communications  within the business
  • Travel 10 – 15% of the time

Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 7 years of Marketing/Communications experience in a corporate or agency setting, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience
  • 5+ years of people management experience
Nice to Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing communications, business or related field
  • Master’s degree
  • Experience and knowledge of the medical device industry
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver plan with measurable results
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proven project planning and management skills
  • Experience managing outside vendors
