MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB


Under the leadership of the Head of Medical Affairs MITG the Senior Medical AdvisorMITG is responsible for the implementation of the medical-scientific activities in all fields related to MITG’s products, related procedures and disease states.
This position concerns the Emerging Africa region, where Training& Educational plans for HCPs / HCOs from the EA Region will be created, implemented and followed in close cooperation with a local commercial Team (Sales, Marketing, DSM)


MAIN JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
In very close collaboration with the Country/Region Commercial organizations, leads the execution of the medical-scientific strategy and programs defined by the Head of Medical Affairs MITG together with the relevant MITG Business Units. 
Collaborating with key thought leaders in the development and implementation of medical- scientific activities such as: medical symposia, clinical study group meetings, think tank meetings, advisory board meetings, research conferences, etc. 
Implementation of the medical-scientific communication programmes (Clinical Immersions, Masterclasses, Fellowships, Proctorships, GLP Learning Pathways, Scientific Round Tables) and follow up
Execution of the Emerging Africa Region ‘disease area’ health care professional training and education strategy and programmes including operational budget management
Clinical development strategy and programmes: 
identifies clinical evidence gaps and supports the Head of Medical Affairs MITG and the EMEA Clinical Affairs in the development and implementation of the MITG clinical research strategy and programs.
supports the EMEA Clinical Affairs team by providing medical-scientific expertise, by assisting in the identification of potential highest quality study centers and by being a key contact for researchers.
Serve as an expert resource concerning MITG products’ medical-scientific/clinical evidence for the Commercial organization and other internal stakeholders including: Clinical Affairs, Health Economics, Policy and Reimbursement, Marketing and Marketing Communications, Research and Technology Development, Product Development, Regulatory Affairs, Governmental Affairs, Sales Management and Sales Training, Business Development and Licensing, Integrated Hospital Solution
Ensure that all Medical Affairs applicable regulations, policies, and procedures are adhered to.


Must Haves

Medical/scientific background (MD, PharmD, or PhD) with ideally 5 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical or Medical Device Industry
Marketing and/or Sales experience is of advantage 
Proven understanding of the medical device or pharmaceutical area and healthcare systems’ specifics (in EA Region) 
Proven ability to implement medical-scientific action plans (including the organization, management and implementation of HCP training and education programs) 
Excellent organizational and project management skills 
Excellent analytical skills 
Capability to understand, interpret, and communicate complex scientific information (medical statistics, scientific papers reading and interpretation, knowledge of EBM). 

Skills & Competencies

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and fluency in English. 
Excellent knowledge and use of the Egyptian language is required 
Proficient use of any other language of the Region is an advantage.
