In this role, you will contribute to Medtronic’s growth and success by developing and managing effective global internal communications programs. The APV division within the Medtronic Cardiac & Vascular Group is an exciting growth business with more than 4,000 global employees. You will work closely with the APV President and senior leadership team to develop impactful internal communications plans that excite and align employees to the division’s vision and Medtronic mission.

A Day in the Life
Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders to support effective communications that connect APV employees to the APV vision and strategy 
Translate business strategy into effective executive presentations for quarterly town halls, internal events, and external speaking opportunities 
Develop and execute internal communications  for integrated, healthcare communications plans in partnership with communications colleagues across APV and global markets, including select product launches, healthcare congresses, select disease awareness campaigns, and other critical events and special projects 
Uses expertise in internal relationship management to advise and influence those who wish to communicate and provides counsel and coaching to ensure communications are strategic and effective 
Lead internal communications for change and issues management, including the project management of complex communications plans and messaging/content development that protect, promote and advance the Medtronic reputation 
Analyze effectiveness of internal communications efforts, governs and improves existing processes, and incorporates new technology  and techniques to improve our communications with employees 
Helps build a culture reflective of Medtronic’s Mission and core values and drives engagement and the reputation of the company through one of our most important stakeholders, our employees 
Write, create, and develop  articles and creative to support our content strategy in alignment with the Medtronic brand and serve as the editor in chief for APV internal communication channels 
Manage communications contractors and external agencies to support projects as needed 
Must Haves
Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years in a communications role within a corporate or agency setting; OR Advanced Degree with 7+ years of experience 

Nice to Have
Strong writing, creative and executive presentation skills 
Experience in planning and implementation of strategic and integrated communications plans
Project management experience; must be able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and shift focus adeptly 
Strong leadership and influence management skills to support stakeholder management and strategic counseling 
Ability to interact and own the “big picture” and “the details” to help solve problems or translate complex assignments for APV employees 
Demonstrates business acumen, preferably experience in healthcare or regulated industry 
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross functional teams at all levels of the organization, including understanding and previous experience working in a global, matrix environment
Creative, persuasive, and diplomatic in presenting ideas; willing to take initiative
Ability to travel as needed
