In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and managing the creation, development, and effective execution of the organization’s internal communications strategy for the Respiratory & Monitoring Solutions and Surgical Innovations North America commercial teams in the Americas Region. 

This role reports directly to the Senior Director, MITG Communications.

This role can be based in Boulder, CO, at another Medtronic location, or remotely.

A Day in the Life
Manages and executes communications activities to the commercial teams around corporate announcements including business strategy and direction, organizational structure, financial results, employee engagement and recognition, and other critical events
Leverages internal communications to convey messages to inform, align, and engage commercial employees
Maintains strong relationships with senior leaders to support effective executive communications, ensuring that key messages are delivered and appropriate follow up is completed
Uses expertise in internal relationship management to advise and influence those who wish to communicate and provides counsel and coaching to ensure effective communication to employees
Supports the development and implementation of the internal communications strategy, analyzes effectiveness of internal communications efforts, governs and improves existing processes, and researches new communication approaches.
Helps build a culture reflective of Medtronic’s Mission and core values and drives the reputation of the company
Partners with regional commercial program managers to plan and implement internal meetings, such as All Hands calls, team webinars, etc., with a sustained focus on specific strategic business and communications objectives
Collaborates with other communications functional leaders to tell a cohesive, consistent story to all applicable employee audiences
Incorporates new technology and techniques to communicate effectively within the business, including reaching remote, field-based employees
Demonstrates strong skills in organizational communications to shape messages, create communication channels, develop strategic communication plans and provide insights and information at both the strategic and tactical levels
Must Haves
Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years of progressive responsibility in the communications field, in either a corporate environment or agency OR Master's degree and 8+ years of experience

Master's Degree
Strong written and interpersonal communications skills essential
Excellent stakeholder management and strategic, communications counseling skills
Solid project and time management skills; must be able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and shift focus adeptly 
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues at all levels of the organization
Interest or experience working on developing and leading communications to engage remote employees
Interest or experience in understanding the commercial aspects of our business
Understanding of basic brand, marketing and design principles
Problem-solving and negotiation
Ability to engage, brief and manage third-party vendors on specific projects
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, as well as knowledge of industry-standard file types, such as PDF, JPEG, BITMAP, TIFF, etc. Experience with Salesforce.com, Eloqua or other eMarekting platforms
