Medtronic Diabetes is undergoing a transformation with the aim of simplifying and automating core processes within the business. The Senior Principal Six Sigma Analyst will require a strong background in Lean Six Sigma Process Optimization.  This role must have a strong ability to drive projects in a fast-paced matrix environment leveraging leadership and strong interpersonal skills. This role will facilitate cross-Diabetes group initiatives that will drive the simplification and acceleration of business transformation.  In this role you will assist with structure, timing, and budgeting of projects for the Enterprise Excellence & IT team. This role will report into the Senior Director of Enterprise Excellence for the Diabetes group.


 A Day In The Life

  •  Drive and implement strategic initiatives, goals, and action plans that optimize our business processes and operational effectiveness
  • Provide continuous improvement expertise as you provide guidance on best practices, approaches, and current tools to build, streamline, implement, and/or automate key processes
  • Utilize process improvement methods by identifying, documenting, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating processes and standard operating procedures, as well as continuous improvements and automated solutions
  • Analyze current commercial and operational processes to identify improvement opportunities by gathering process information through facilitating brainstorming sessions, interviews, observations, surveys, and workshops
  • Challenge current working practices to improve operational performance by identifying process improvement opportunities through an understanding of systems, analysis, benchmarking and future needs
  • Ensures the systematic development, definition, and deployment of appropriate metrics that include measures of efficiency and effectiveness and integrate the “Voice of the Customer” as a critical component of process feedback.
  • Work with team leads, I.T. team members, vendors and customers to assure that identified workflows issues are identified and corrected
  • Prepare and communicate strategic recommendations to Senior Management for the execution and prioritization of process improvement projects
  • Independently lead multiple operational improvement projects and teams from project initiation through execution
  • Work towards quantifying process improvements through data and calculate ROI to justify new process improvements.
  • Work closely with the Data and Analytics team to measure pre and post change metrics and KPIs
  • Build out mapping for systems and data to drive a centralized data analytics solution


Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Requires a University Degree and minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
Nice to Have
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Computer Systems Technology or related discipline
  • Strong working knowledge and experience in continuous process improvement, project management, and business process transformational technical skills (Six Sigma, Lean, Agile, and Business Process Management and Continuous Improvement)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to structure and scope complex problems, apply a range of analytical tools, gain and synthesize insights, and develop optimal solutions. 
  • Strong experience mapping and modeling business processes using a variety of process improvement tools and techniques
  • Lean Six Sigma Certified (Black or Green belt).
  • Self-starter who has led projects which have had significant, positive impact on member and employee experiences and contributed to business success.
