The Senior Reimbursement Program Manager will serve in a highly visible and impactful role as the Neurovascular business’s primary reimbursement leader to support global reimbursement strategy development, new business development, evidence planning, and product launch support.  This leader will manage one analyst dedicated to the Neurovascular business. This individual reports to the Vice President, Reimbursement and Health Economics for the Brain and Pain Therapies Businesses and is responsible for leadership of Neurovascular reimbursement activities. This individual will report dotted-line to the VP/ for the Neurovascular Business and sit on the GM staff.  The Senior Reimbursement Program Manager will provide critical input into developing global reimbursement strategies.  This individual will collaborate with local country reimbursement and market access colleagues (including the US market) to support the establishment of reimbursement in target geographies and to resolve reimbursement challenges.

A Day In The Life
  • Participate as a member of the Neurovascular Leadership Team (GM staff) to provide advice and counsel to the Neurovascular business on reimbursement considerations in the areas of global (including US) reimbursement strategy, health economics, and health policy. 
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the data requirements (including clinical and cost) of CMS, as well as major global payers and Health Technology Assessment bodies. Determine and communication to the business the needs of economic stakeholders and champion evidence development to support product reimbursement/funding and market access.  
  • Lead the process for developing global product-specific reimbursement strategies based on the requirements of technology assessment organizations and payers, including Medicare, NICE, etc.  
  • Develop reimbursement assessments/ strategies for emerging and existing therapies (ID2MR process and due diligence activities) ensuring appropriate reimbursement and health economics analyses and perspectives are integrated into business plans and decision making.
  • Champion the development and maintenance of reimbursement tools to be used by reimbursement colleagues and sales partners. (coding sheets, economic models, evidence dossiers, etc.)
  • Interacts with cross functional partners (Marketing, Regulatory, Legal, R&D, Clinical, Corporate and Global reimbursement counterparts) to drive reimbursement initiatives.
  • Provide Neurovascular Senior Leadership team with regular updates as well as strategies to address changes in the U.S. Medicare payment system, as well as other key country healthcare reimbursement systems.
  • Work with Neurovascular franchise to evaluate the reimbursement opportunities and barriers for business development products and services.
  • Sit on the Clinical Governance and External Research Project Boards to represent reimbursement function.
  • Represent the Neurovascular business at key professional society congresses.
  • Conduct periodic analysis of Medicare regulations and communicate changes and updates to the business.
  • Develop strategies for advocacy with payers as necessary.
  • Plan/support product launches with US Field Team.

Must Have; Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum 7 years’ work experience in reimbursement, medical devices, and/or health care.
Nice To Have
  • Master’s degree in health policy, business administration, public administration or a related discipline.
  • Experience in Medical Device or Pharmaceutical Industry Health Policy / Strategic Reimbursement experience 
  • Experience working with product-development teams
  • 5+ years healthcare work experience including 3+ years device industry or pharmaceutical industry health policy/strategic reimbursement planning experience.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Able to apply strong analytical skills to a variety of situations of varying ambiguity. 
  • Independently develop clinical and economical value dossier and value tools/summaries. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to all levels of the organization.
  • Customer-facing experience
  • Project management experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Understanding of US payment systems and healthcare trends
  • Experience reviewing commercial coverage policies and Medicare payment regulations
