Senior Software Engineer

We are looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer for our Cardiac Rhythm and Heart Failure (CRHF) Software division. This engineer will be responsible for building and implementing monitoring tools and observability all of our environments. An ideal candidate will have a background in cloud native technologies plus system, network, and storage administration, and programming.

A Day in the Life

  • Ensuring the environments are up and running by monitoring availability and performance through a holistic view of system health.
  • Learn and understand software standards for Medical devices.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives for the software team. This includes recognizing areas for improvement as well as working with others to develop and document process improvements.
  • Work under general direction and collaboratively with internal and external partners located across various geographies.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Engineering or technically related.
  • 4+ years of related experience or Advanced Degree with 2+ years of experience.

Specialized Knowledge Required:

  • Cloud knowledge on AWS and/or Azure is highly desired.
  • Monitoring/Observability stack experience such as AppDynamics, Data Dog, Prometheus.
  • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining CI/CD automation processes & pipelines.
  • Proficient skills in using logging aggregation solutions like ELK.
  • Programming/testing expertise, including Python and/or PowerShell.
  • Experience managing cloud scalability or a mission critical environment.
  • Experience in deploying/managing software to on-premises, co-located, cloud, and hybrid cloud.

Nice to Have

  • Strong knowledge of software design, development, debug, and test practices.
  • Proficiency in two or more of the following technologies: C, C++, Java, Java Script, HTML, VBScript, C#, .NET, Perl, Python, Objective C, Angular, Xamarin.
  • A mindset of repeatability, testability, observability, and reversibility in all you do.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated skills in writing engineering documents (specifications, etc.).
  • Experience with configuration management tools.
  • Experience in Open Source development platform/tools.
