This role will serve as a critical member of the Strategy, Growth, and Business Development team and partner with cross-functional colleagues within the Coronary & Structural Heart (CSH) division to directly influence the strategic direction of the organization. You will contribute to and lead key strategic initiatives and inorganic opportunities that will accelerate CSH growth. You will help identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with third parties and take responsibility for structuring and executing partnerships, acquisitions, and licenses. In this role you will help drive the overall alignment and prioritization of external opportunities with internal capabilities and vision as well as proactively identify companies and technologies to fill prioritized strategic and technical gaps. A Day in the Life


·        Partner with CSH business unit leadership to identify strategic needs and potential target companies/technologies to address needs.

·        Lead cross-business initiatives to drive aligned CSH strategy.

·        Perform strategic and market analysis for proposed initiatives, including assessment of CSH strategic objectives and proposed strategy’s fit with those objectives.

·        Develop financial and valuation models for transactions and identify/assess opportunities and risks including financial, operational, and integration related.

·        Manage business unit cross-functional due diligence activities in partnership with Business Development and Corporate Development leadership.

·        Act as representative and negotiator in initial contact with potential partner organizations.

·        Manage on-going licensing agreements, acquisitions, and/or alliances as the business representative for the partner organization.

·        Be a trusted thought partner to therapy strategy teams and business unit/division leadership.

 


Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
Nice to Have
  • Experience in a Finance, Upstream Marketing, Management Consulting, Business Development, Strategy, M&A or technical role 
  • Masters or MBA
  • Business “deal” experience (investment banking, private equity or venture capital)
  • Experience working with and presenting to all levels of management including business unit GMs, division presidents, and group presidents
  • Experience negotiating business agreements
  • Cross-functional team leadership experience
  • Technical experience with a focus on the medical device industry
