MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

Provide commercial and marketing leadership and strategic direction for Medtronic’s Structural Heart (SH) portfolio (TAVI & Congenital) across ABGIN. Align and drive a cross functional team to achieve and exceed revenue, market share, and operating margin targets while positioning the business for sustainable long-term growth.

MAIN JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Management

• Develop and execute commercial plans to achieve short-term and long-term SH business unit objectives while ensuring that sales strategies are aligned to Business Unit strategies and that support to the field is in place.
• Manage and lead the SH business unit through matrix management of the ABGIN region and HQ EMEA.
• Directly contribute to the attainment of financial and operational goals within the business unit and region in support of overall financial and strategic objectives.
• Establish budgets, short- and long-range objectives and criteria for monitoring progress and measuring success.
• Drive commercial channel optimization and management (i.e., direct, indirect, remote)
• Oversee new product/market introductions, sales training programs, key IC’s & CS’s/key account visits and attendance at key industry congresses and meetings.
• Drive pricing excellence and profitability protection of the full portfolio.
• Focus on growth strategy and provide direction for ongoing SH business development within ABGIN, implementation of marketing plans, development of sales and market development objectives and tools, overseeing market development execution, and capturing short/medium term commercial opportunities and foundation for the long term.
• Maintain long-range SH sales and marketing plans for the ABGIN region.
• Represent SH ABGIN at EMEA meetings.
• Drive all change initiatives by being a transformation leader and role model to mobilize teams as well as other stakeholders to commit to this strategic and cultural change to align with CVG’s HEART vision and the pan-Medtronic Enterprise Excellence strategies and initiatives.

Integrative People Leadership

• Lead a proactive collaboration across ABGIN and EMEA.
• Provide opportunities for personal growth and advancement of reports, owning specific initiatives to achieve GIDE goals.
• Design and maximize opportunities for talent development by making superior decisions as to how to deploy and develop them. Accelerate the development of others, differentiating opportunities and purposefully creating progressive experiences.
• Build effective teams through hiring and development of direct and key indirect reports, using performance management techniques including mentoring, rewards and recognition when appropriate, and discipline when necessary.
• Provide opportunities for personal growth and advancement of direct and indirect reports.
• Develop and maintain an effective communication process with countries to ensure organizational alignment within the BU.
• Promote a trusting and progressive culture within the ABGIN region and develop collaborative relationships across Medtronic and CVG, connect and network effectively across all areas.
• Leverage matrix relationships to align with others.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND PERSONAL VALUES

• Able to motive and lead across a complex matrix in a challenging market context.
• Prior Medtronic business leadership experience preferred.
• Demonstrate experience leading high performing teams and effective talent development.
• Undergraduate degree required; MBA or equivalent Post-Graduate Degree preferred.
• 7+ years in sales/marketing in a medical device or related field; experience in cardiology preferred.
• Fluency in English; other European languages a distinct plus.
• Strong analytical skills and business acumen.
• Ability to anticipate market trends ahead of the curve and build plans to capitalize on the potential opportunities presented.
• A positive person with strong entrepreneurial skills who brings passion, energy and excellence in execution to his/her work.
• Must be able to travel 40-50% of the time.
