In this exciting role as a Senior Clinical IT Developer you will have primary focus responsibility to support diabetes clinical research efforts in a data rich environment by using programming and analysis.  BioInformatics in this position is related to extracting, arranging, analyzing and presenting clinical data from medical devices and case report forms.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. 

  • Design, development, evaluation and modification of computer programs to analyze and evaluate clinical data
  • Identify inconsistencies and proactively resolve data problems 
  • Leads planning and coordination of programming for database manipulations, transfer and analysis of data for internal and external clients.  
  • Work with databases (i.e. Oracle, CSV from multiple studies or sources).  
  • Acts as liaison between clinical management, subcommittees, and project teams on an as-needed basis.
  • Interacts with Data Management and Biostatistics staff to negotiate timelines, responsibilities, and deliverables.
  • Provides guidance to less senior staff, in industry best practices, departmental procedures and developing technical expertise. 
  • Assists in developing, revising, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
  • Works independently without appreciable direction
  • Medical device data management / Data Mining / Data Analysis / Validation

Must Have (Minimum Requirements):

To be considered for this role, the minimum requirements must be evident on your resume.

  • Bachelor’s degree required and minimum of 4 years of clinical data/analysis experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years of clinical data/analysis experience

Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications):

  • M.S/Ph.D. Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science
  • Experience using clinical data management system (i.e. Oracle Clinical and SQL) and data analysis (i.e. MATLAB and data visualization).  Extensive experience with data mining.
  • Advanced programming skillset. Capable of import and export functionality using programming tools / applications from various external sources
  • Experience in medical device
  • Solid understanding of clinical device/drug development process
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and technical database skills are essential.  
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong preference to local candidates
