A Day in the Life

The Credit Risk Management team is part of the European Financial Shared Service Center (FSSC) and acts as a key enabler in the Invoice to Cash (ItC) value stream aiming to integrate and standardize processes and systems, collaborating with other functions and the business units in effectively managing financial risks while preserving revenue growth.

The Credit Risk Management team acts as an independent unbiased controller of regional and corporate credit rules and various processes in the ItC value stream. You will act as an advisor on risk management, manage bad debt calculation and postings, communicate outcome of credit evaluations and bad debt calculation to wider organization and have direct interaction with senior leadership members.

Central positioning of the team in ItC stream creates opportunity for further standardization of processes, bringing together the various functions and business partnering with each of them.

  • Quarterly calculation, preparation and booking of bad debt reserves
  • Perform customer credit evaluations, set up credit limits and risk categories
  • Apply mastery of in-depth system (SAP) and process knowledge (ability to learn internal processes)
  • Create and develop regional credit policies, Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions, aligned with Global Credit policies
  • Monitor adherence to standard processes / act as change agent
  • Prepare various communications for senior management
  • Provide training to wider organization on Credit policies
  • First point of contact for internal and external Audit related to Bad Debt questions
  • Gatekeeper of the (global/regional) credit management policy including extended payment terms and credit limits

Must Haves

  • Bachelor (HBO) or higher degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent.
  • Language: Fluent in English (spoken and writing)
  • 3-5 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or Credit Risk Management
  • In-depth knowledge (SME level)
  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Reporting skills. Good knowledge of Excel – advanced user and preferably building Macro’s
  • Experience with SAP – advanced user
  • Experience with credit rating/scoring of customers
  • Accurate & Reliable
  • Able to think “outside the box”
  • Remain calm and objective under pressure
  • Able to adapt communication to suit the audience
  • Has passion for the job, takes ownership and tries to get the maximum result without harming the business and customer relationship
