For more than a decade, the HeartWare HVAD System has been used to restore life to patients with advanced heart failure.  Join the Medtronic Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) business and help to meaningfully advance this therapy and transform the care of patients with advanced heart failure.  Help lead the digital marketing communications efforts for the HeartWare HVAD System.  Work collaboratively with MCS marketing & marcom team members and the Global Digital and Social Media Group.  You will work strategically with Medtronic businesses to successfully reach segmented audiences.  Lead the digital strategy planning, execution and evaluation efforts to meet the MCS marketing goals and strategies.  You will be empowered to provide and guide project management and creative direction to internal and external support staff, creative agencies, and vendors with the end goal of delivering effective digital campaigns and tools to support the business. A Day in the Life:  

• Strategic Digital Campaign:  Turn marketing strategy into a commercial reality by designing and executing digital campaigns to achieve business results.  Recommend and influence the direction and downstream channel strategies for new and existing products and market development efforts.  Work with the product marketing team, the commercial marketing team and the medical education team to target our messaging through multiple channels to achieve the marketing objectives.  

• Relationship Management:  Establish and cultivate strong, productive working relationships with Marketing and Communications colleagues and across the business and broader CRHF & CVG.  Represents the MCS Marketing Communications organization as a primary contact for digital communications both external and internal.

• Creative Direction:  Lead and influence the creative development of campaigns both visually and verbally, compliant to Medtronic brand guidelines.  Develop and Manage brand assets for both internal and external use.  

• Communicate Metrics:  Responsible for communication of metrics from digital efforts.  Develop dashboard for priority initiatives.  Report out and up.  

• Writing & Editing:  Understand and apply the elements of writing excellence.  Write, edit and/or manage the writing of content and materials with both substantive and creative copy solutions.  Conduct appropriate research to test messages and/or communication content.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 4 years’ experience working in Digital Communications role in a corporate or agency environment (2 years with Advanced Degree)
•Project Management experience including managing client/customer relationships, project timelines and budgets
•Graphic design experience and web design experience 

Nice to Have:

•Masters Degree
•App development
•Experience in the medical device or healthcare industry
