The Mapping Development Specialist provides technical, clinical, educational, training and sales support to ensure effective adoption and growth of our mapping system and future technologies.  The AF Solutions Mapping Development Specialist works closely with our customers and existing AF Solutions field organizations to drive procedural and practice success.


  • Technical and Clinical Expertise:  Provide clinical expertise for CIT centers including initial system assembly, clinical and technical troubleshooting and ongoing technical support.  Feedback from customer experience will be used for next generation releases.
  • Educational and Training Support:  Provide support and staff training for mapping and future technology introductions.  Assist in education and training activities with physicians, hospital support staff and Medtronic personnel.  Stay abreast of and communicate clinical data regarding AF Solutions products.
  • Sales Support:  Collaborate and strategize with local sales team to conduct customer training for mapping and other AF Solutions products.




·        Provide system assembly and functional testing at installation of mapping system

·        Provide ongoing system upgrades to the Mapping System

·        Provide case support for our Mapping products

·        Introduce the Mapping technology to new customers and train them on best use

·        Conduct customer training on use of other AF Solutions products and clinical protocols

  • Work in close collaboration with the R&D team to further develop the mapping system. This includes beta-site testing at selected accounts and feedback / input into next generation releases.
  • Assist in establishing training process and develop training materials for Account Managers, Clinical Specialists and customers
  • Assist with customer management of inventory ordering needs
  • Help the team assess training needs based on actual knowledge and feedback from field and customers, suggest ways that training can help meet established sales and marketing objectives, and provide guidance on the delivery of educational programs
  • Serve as technical resource to customers and Medtronic personnel for complex problems and provide technical explanation and demonstration of products to customers
  • Serve as district and/or regional "expert" for all AF Solutions products and continually pursue new learning relative to AF therapies
  • Build the regional Mapping support team, act as a regional champion to share your experience and influence others to be proficient for the full market introduction of the Mapping Technology




  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years in clinical support role in electrophysiology




  • Willingness to travel 50-75% of the time (depending on where accounts are located)
  • Experience teaching and educating medical personnel, peers and technical support personnel
  • Willingness to travel to Europe for training in initial phase
  • 5+ years educational delivery experience in electrophysiology field
  • Technically savvy and past experience operating complex computer software system
  • Preferred experience with other mapping technologies (CARTO, NAVX)
  • IBHRE Certified EP Specialist preferred
  • Ability to work with a first-generation system & adapt to new technology challenges and considerations
  • Entrepreneur attitude to demonstrate, convince and create innovative training strategies
  • Experience launching new medical technologies or services to the clinical customer
  • Innovative problem-solving skills
  • Expertise with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent influencing and consulting skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to make timely and sound decisions
  • Strong project management skills with experience coordinating programs
  • Effectively build & maintain positive relationships with colleagues across organizational levels & functions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in an organized manner while meeting deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

  • Wear lead apron for long periods of time (2-4 hrs on average)
  • Ability to work in EP labs with radiation exposure
