REPORTING TO: Manager of New Technology dept.


Main Mission of Job “Careers that Change Lives”

Be the internal expert on new and growing technology trends in the industry. Collaborate  with internal end-users and IT colleagues (local, regional and global team members) to promote and support the the evaluation and introduction of new technology to help Medtronic Japan achieve its business goals. The following technologies are expected to be in scope; AI, RPA, e-commerce (Medtronic Connect), Mendix Platform etc.


Main Responsibilities “A Day in the Life”

-Attend external seminars and events to learn about new  technologies

-Maintain a "library" of applications to that can be used to improve efficiency and eliminate labor-intensive processes

-Actively champion the use of such new technologies around the   business

-Consult with the business users to understand their challenges and propose solutions to meet their needs

-Submit proposal to obtain approval/funding for "New technology"  projects

-Manage small/medium projects to implement such new  technology

・Including Governance activities

・Create test scenarios and conduct tests

・Establish a deployment schedule and support the deployment

-Manage Pilots/POCs when required

-Create functional specs and communicate to  developers


Must Haves (Minimum Requirements)

・Education: 

-Bachelor or higher

・Job Experience

-More than 5 years of IT experience, xperience of participating in medium- sized projects (more than 3 months)


・Competencies / Language Skills: 

-Good communication / negotiation ability, presentation skills, English communication with the Global colleague (around TOEIC 700 points) Skills to be a team player or leader as demanded by  situation
-Business level fluency in Japanese is essential

-Strong stakeholder management skills

-Record of implementing projects in complex global environment


Nice to Have
・Basic knowledge of Workflow systems Experience with SQL
・Advanced-level knowledge in one of the following: Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Mendix Platform or e-Commerce
